Dead in the Driveway; Had to be Haul Away

UPDATE: Service Manager just called. Truck is ready to be picked up and both recalls have been completed (Steering ground connector and adjustable pedal travel). Radio Frequency Hub Module (RFHM) was replaced to correct the problem. Thanks to everyone in this thread for your support and...

Dead in the Driveway; Had to be Haul Away

Ya know Rich, I had that same thought. How many RFHM's do they have sitting in the lot that would fit my truck? A whole LOT!!! Probably why they won't let us in the garage while they are working on our vehicles. Aside from the insurance factor, we might have some good ideas. I think the FCA...

    2019 Ram 1500 engine issues

Well said Dusty and I agree, which is why I interact with the Dealership and not my wife :-)

Dead in the Driveway; Had to be Haul Away

JRS - Thanks for passing that information along. You have renewed my hopes. I am hoping that is the case and I can get the truck back on Monday, because my wife is getting tired of driving me around.

Dead in the Driveway; Had to be Haul Away

Yeah, tried that, several times, with both remotes, and like I said I never got a message that the Key Fob was not detected. The Key Fobs were function-less. Wouldn't even lock or unlock the doors, however their little red lights were functioning. The truck will not even cycle to the on/run...

Dead in the Driveway; Had to be Haul Away

Thanks for the feedback LW. I have AAA Plus, because I am thinking, why should I upgrade to Premier? I have brand new truck with free Roadside Assistance, right? There was n/c from AAA to move the truck 500', but I will be discussing this with my FCA Case Manager. That's just wrong and I...

Dead in the Driveway; Had to be Haul Away

UPDATE: The FCA Technician was able to complete his diagnostic testing this afternoon and the diagnosis is that the truck needs a new Radio Frequency Hub Module (RFHM). The truck isn't recognizing the remotes. He will be back Monday to install. I must have been using the key fobs too much...

Dead in the Driveway; Had to be Haul Away

A RamCares Specialist has already provided me a Case Number and has indicated that I would be contacted by a Case Manager. A FCA Tech is supposedly working on it today. I hope to hear something this afternoon.

Dead in the Driveway; Had to be Haul Away

UPDATE: I had to call AAA this morning to get the truck towed from the Dealers parking to inside their building, so the tech could work on it. FCA refused to pay for the tow. Approximately a 500' tow. Nice

Dead in the Driveway; Had to be Haul Away

Dead in the Driveway; Had to be Haul Away

Please disregard my above post. I just read Show55's post from January 6th, and he described the exact same symptoms of my truck, only I didn't disconnect my negative battery cable in an attempt to reset the truck. Today in the mail I received a FCA safety recall (V04/NHTSA 19V-020) for the...

Help! Ram 2019 battery disconnected and now truck will not do anything

I'm curious Show55, has your problem been resolved? I ask because my new 2019 Ram Laramie (3,400 miles) is experiencing the same exact symptoms that you are describing, and I didn't disconnect the negative battery cable. I had it towed to the Dealer this week and they are stumped. Their...

Dead in the Driveway; Had to be Haul Away

Thanks LW, I am going to call the Dealer first thing in the morning and poliely suggest he drop a new battery in it just for S&G's. Nothing to lose. It's not like the truck is going anywhere. If he doesn't want to, I'll call AAA and have them go on his lot and test it. If AAA fixes, I...

Did you try jumping it before you had it towed?

I reported it to RamCares this morning.

Dead in the Driveway; Had to be Haul Away

Thanks for commiserating with me. I just got off the phone with the Service Manager and they are still waiting on FCA to tell them how to release the e-brake, which was fine until he used the "FCA's computers were down" excuse. How about the telephone? Does that still work at Chrysler...

Dead in the Driveway; Had to be Haul Away

Thanks, and I agree, shouldn't have happened, but.....it did. I doubt very much if there is a manual override to release the e-brake, however if you fix the reason the truck won't start, the brakes will take care of themselves. I had to laugh at the tow truck driver though. He said he has had...

Dead in the Driveway; Had to be Haul Away

Exactly my thoughts, which leads me to believe whatever is wrong with the truck, is highly unusal and not anticipated to happen. I am fairly certain its not the battery, since we tried two different bettery packs and neither made a difference.

Dead in the Driveway; Had to be Haul Away

Will do. They indicated they had contacted FCA for guidance. My thought was figure out why it wont start, then you fix two problems.
