With regards to the bad news, it seems like all the manufacturers are having issues with the latest trucks.
Even the Tundra is have major Engine trouble.
We see it in our business as well.

We went through this same thing when they redesigned the truck with their new front end.

I think the SW edition is sharp, but found its only available in 4x4 which is not needed.
Are you able to build one in 4x2?
Also, was it recently added as I don't recall seeing it on their web site, but haven't been to it in a while.
With regards to using higher octane when towing or using periodically, it is my understanding when using various octanes that system recalculates to run properly so it may take a few tank fulls in order for the engine to run optimally. As a result, does periodically swapping octane actually do...
Take away even 10 speakers and with 100,000 vehicles and lets say speakers cost them $20 each, that is $20,000,000 dollars they could pocket.

When on the lot, my wife kept wanting to check out the trucks in Patriot Blue.
Patriot Blue and Night Edition doesn't do much for me, but the Patriot Blue with the Sport look great if dark rims were added instead of chrome.
Personally, I am more for the Granite Grey.
