Here's basically the same one for cheaper. Same company, weight rating, lift height, and weight. The only difference is the color. I'll probably get it.

Not off the top of my head. I know there are threads about this in here. You'd have to do a little digging. Maybe look at the fuse box diagram and grab a aux power source using an add a circuit tap like these.

These new electrical systems are really picky when you start adding things. Maybe try finding an ignition on power source for the relay instead of trying to tap into the lights. Or power the DRL option from the ignition on power source directly. Same results. Keep it as simple as possible.
That code is for a bad signal. There may be a wiring issue like a bad connection. Take it back, it's still under warranty.

The Weigh Safe True Tow is a weight distribution and anti sway hitch combination. You can't set the weight distribution and not use the hitch. It doesn't work like that. If he is talking about a plain weigh safe hitch then maybe I could see your point but I think he's talking about the True Tow...
