I guess I should've clarified, what's the OE ID (inside diameter), but by the photos, I'm guessing something like 70-72 mm if the wall thickness is around 5-6mm. I'll check out the thread, thanks!
Thanks for posting that, always good to see new ideas on the market!
I think the Mr.T's-Haircut roof racks are growing on me, the side profile is nice, the front could use a lightbar to break up the flatness
my .02 if you look into how sound deadening works, the frequencies you're hoping to cancel for road noise are on the lower/bass spectrum.
I'd bet a square patch about 1/3rd the size of the wheel house applied to the largest flat area (middle section) would cut a huge amount of sound by not...
Great question - thanks for the memories!
'69 Super Beetle - my dad called on his brick motorola phone to tell me to look outside .. he was rolling up in a $500 more-rust-than-paint beetle that we got to work on together for a bit... I can still smell the paint after all these years
Old technology replaced by older technology haha, love it! (I'm a Ham myself, so I can see doing the same thing perhaps).
Where'd you mount your antenna?
*EDIT* man! posted near the same time
Hey I get the frustration - and echo this 1000% it might even shame all automakers into actually updating their maps and would enlighten buyers before purchasing their '2019' that the maps are '2014'... which, my '14 acura has what, '12 maps and no AAuto/Carplay... now that's annoying to have no...
I hope you do all of the above to raise awareness of the issue - I agree it's ridiculous that built-in maps in vehicles are always outdated.
That said, if this is your first vehicle with built-in Nav, then I can understand why you're upset.
I'm on my 4th or so vehicle that had nav options and...
Since this thread is alive again - anyone considered an oil filter relocation kit?
Yes, there's another thread out there, but it's been dead long enough not to resurrect it, thought i'd see if anyone in this group has considered/done it
Someone tell me how impractical this is -
I'd like the sound/fumes of a cutout to exit the tailpipes. I know that valved exhausts exist, however the base 'quiet' exhaust on a valved system is still louder than OEM (and for the sake of my passengers, I probably need to stick to OEM volume)...
I wonder if scoring the bottom or even a clean cut (bandsaw?) with a flexible hinge of waterproof material (like the strips used for a Tri-Fold cover like Lomax) would keep the floor protection while allowing an easy flip-up that doesn't snap back at you
Interesting... makes sense to save from leaving fingerprints on the edge (though I have clear edge guard), but do you have protectant behind the holes in the rings? or are your nails eventually going to leave scratches there similar to how they occur in door cups?
... dude.
Mine were...
Clearing two things up from above -
1. the TPMS sensors are battery operated - there's no charging while in motion
2. The TPMS Sensors 'sleep' when no motion is detected to save battery life
3. the Sensors will transmit PSI data 'live' to the dash if they're awake after a drive - that's how...
hidden kill switches are great for after someone gets into your ride; but something to keep them out might be aftermarket alarm leds or even a keypad like this - granted if someone wants to take a vehicle, overriding this isn't impossible either
*edit* one alarm system add-on I heard helped was...
So I finally settled on 'one' thing I strongly dislike after a year of ownership -
the hokey programming of the system - this covers pretty much all electronic parts which seem to be a consensus of 'failed attempts'
I deactivated rear braking because it's a joke
the stereo glitches often. but...
