I found it better to call them. They tend to be a little more helpful when they can. It's harder to blow you off on the phone than from a keyboard. Mine is still in the shipping stage, but they have an additional database that they can access.

I think you should be fine. The weight of the ATV is distributed to the tires which will put it on the outside of the tailgate where it's hinged. If all the weight was centered on the MFT split, there might be an issue. Just my two cents...
