IMO the only appreciable difference is the tires... the Duratrac's on a Rebel are more aggressive offroad and as a result buzz more than the Falken's on road. Also it can be argued that the Bilstein's will give slightly better offroad performance than the Hitachi's for the Off Road Package but...
So are you getting a bit of coil binding because the payload of Gladiator is a little less than a 1500? I wonder if Clayton will make a uprated version for 1500's if there's enough demand.
I agree that something doesn't look quite right... but I don't know if that's post crack, and the OP just ran their finger around it to assess the damage or something done on the mfg. line.
Maybe... different angle too. Also I think the spot welds are different too... which probably isn't unusual. I was hoping to spot a difference that helped your cause. Just for kicks here's a side by side where I tried to make the cutout the same size.
Maybe a slight difference here...
So this is interesting. I was out waiting for the bus to come pick up my daughter and I snuck under my truck "just to see". On my truck it looks like I have a lot more surface area where the mount meets the bed... or is it just me?
It's fully sealed, closed loop. The pump will turn on from time to time to ensure the desired ride height. This can happen simply because of changes in ambient temperature, which then change the PSI in the suspension, and PSI determines ride height. Just like the cold can "deflate" a football...
It's a sealed system filled with nitrogen... it doesn't use outside "air". That should make it far more reliable since there's no ambient moisture getting in, condensing, and freezing (which is what breaks things). I haven't seen anyone in this forum have an issue yet... and I haven't had any...
As I mentioned before, I highly doubt the Youtube video is the best or only evidence the authorities have. In fact, I don't think the video alone would be enough probable cause.
Someone filed a complaint, and probably had some kind of evidence that compelled the cops to act. For example, I'm...
As would be expected. I would also expect it to happen dynamicly depending on load, atmospheric conditions, etc., where the ECU is consistently trying to get the best performance out of the engine as conditions and demands change.
I think we both agree that there is crap that gets caught by the can, I just don't think the value of putting one in is any where near the same when compared to more modern engine designs with direct injection or turbos or both. I guess if I were towing/hauling 30 - 50K miles per year, then...
Not saying there wasn't crap, just that the crap is a much bigger deal for turbo and direct injected engines. Port injected on the other hand uses the fuel to dissolve and burn the crap away during combustion.
Car and Driver did a pretty good test which includes a 5.7 Hemi...

I'm thinking one of the neighbors of the "private property" dropped a dime on them, and probably has more evidence too, which when presented to authorities compelled them to act.
The waterway crimes for example will supersede "private property".
