Coming from two Ecoboost engines prior to my Ram (3.5 in an 2017 F150 and 2.0 in a 2013 Focus ST), it's not the turbos that are the death of Ford engines, and it's not specifically turbo engines that fail in the Ford line up, it's the OHC nature of their engines instead of the tried and true...
It can take up to 24 hours for everything to come back after an update. When the update is done, it will show a message on the screen stating this (you probably didn’t see it because they did the update)
Also, since it’s classified as a safety recall, I believe they’re required to do it...
Mine updated to MY23.T27.46-PROD late last week. The only change I've noticed so far is the font at the top (time, temp, etc) is bigger. I thought this would be the recall update as well, but my app still shows it open and I seem to recall when we went through this on our Jeep a couple of...
I’ve used Mobil 1 for years and have had no issues. Costco and Sam’s both put the 6 quart boxes on sale every couple of months for $33, so I’ll stock up then.
Sounds like you've done your homework on what to look for. As long as everything checks out when you get there and there's no obvious signs of issues, I wouldn't worry about it.
For what it's worth, i'm the second owner of my 22 GT. I purchased it in May of this year with 1,600 miles on it...
I honestly think 5K oil changes are the key in helping to at least mitigate common problems/failures, and not just across any one brand. Going by the oil life monitor and changing it when it tells you to just doesn't seem like a good idea, IMO.
You must be further north in NC than me. No Sheetz in the Charlotte area, as QT has the hold on the large gas station market and they don't offer E88. I used to run it in my F150 when visiting family around GSO and saw no difference, other than less money out of my wallet. I've been tempted...
They’ll push it OTA soon. I got the official letter this weekend in the mail and saw that OTA was an option.
When this happened on our Jeep a couple years ago, the update was pushed not long after we received the letter in the mail.
Totally up to you. Personally, I like the ability to GPS track my truck, but not enough to pay for the service. That's one thing Ford has (maybe had at this point if they've followed everybody else) going for them. They tried to go subscription based shortly after I bought my F150 in 2018...
Satellite radio is it's own separate thing with a separate subscription with Sirius. The RAM Connect services they're referring to are the ability to remote start your truck from the app, track it with GPS from the app, and some other app based features that I don't recall offhand. Maybe the...
Zaino has been my go to for a few years. I've tried other stuff from Chemical Guys and other hyped up brands, but always came back to Zaino. Easy on , easy off, and the results last a long time even with regular washes. The key is using either the gloss enhancer or even the quick detail spray...
Got the notice on my app a few days ago. I'm a little surprised they're forcing people to come in for the update. We had a camera recall on our 2020 JGC a couple of years ago and had the option to come in or do it OTA. I chose OTA and had it complete in 10 minutes...never left my driveway.
Mine has done this too. I've learned to slowly release the brake pedal and wait for etorque to do it's thing. You'll feel it engage.
It almost really got me one time not long after I bought the truck. I was parked nose down in a spot and put it in reverse to back out, and as I quickly let...
While I can appreciate its more symmetrical than Ram’s MFT, I like the Ram one better now that I have it and have used it. Honestly, it was a feature I wasn’t after but it came with the truck I bought. The very first time I used it with my trailer hooked up and was able to get into the bed...
I went with the Laramie G/T,because of lack of other options really since I’m the 2nd owner. When I saw it pop up online, I jumped on it. Absolutely zero regrets. It’s a perfect blend of sportiness and every day refinement.
Is it a true 1-owner Carfax, or a 1-owner Carfax that shows a history of being a rental vehicle? I can't tell you how many I saw advertised as 1-owner Carfax only to read the report and it was titled as a rental vehicle. It would be a hard pass from me if so. Mileage is a little high to be a...
