Sure thing. Here are a couple of pics that show what I did when I installed it. Making due with what I had in the garage. There are other ways to accomplish the same outcome I’m sure. :)
Thanks Cajun I ise mine constantly and they’ve been a good option for me. Very few tears (no sweat as it’s cold outside) and you’ll be in business. :)
Oh, and the cost savings is a HUGE bonus. (y)
That sux. Have you tried turning off Bluetooth on the phone and making sure the screen is unlocked when you plug in before you start? Also, make sure no one else has a Bluetooth connected phone in range. (Just a thought)
Oh, and are you using a USB-C cable?
A few minutes with a wire wheel on drill, on the lower studs, and 2 drops of 3-in-1 oil made the job super quick and easy. Cost me $4 for the wheel as I’d “misplaced” mine.
Ouch, forgive my mis-information there. The super hard plastic is over an aluminum frame. The frame is what bolts to the brackets. I still really like them.
Is the sound that you hear at highway speeds a whistle? I’ve noticed that, in certain windy conditions, my driver mirror makes a whistle sound (collapsed mirrors while happening, and it went away) gonna tinker to find the exact spot that whistles. :)
I went with a more aggressive looking board that looks perfect with my Nitto Ridge Grappler tires. They are APS brand ABS blow-molded with aluminum frame under the plastic and went on easily (after using a wire wheel to remove the lug paint). There is a little flex when my 220lb foot hits it...
Since I am in and out of tons of parking garages nowadays, I needed clearance.
I am getting old too...I had 6" lifts on several trucks in the past...but my wife and I are no spring chickens anymore and we need easy in-out now. :(
Correct. The pins are labeled on the cover of the trailer connector. I used the constant power and negative (I believe that they were red and white respectively). SUPER simple. :)
Yes, I used one short, flat-head screw to anchor each end to the plastic seat support cover on each end. I also used a large zip tie to anchor the center back to the D-Ring that exists under the center of the rear seat. Works like a charm. :)
I had tons of trouble with my Carplay connection until I did 3 things:
1) set my iPhone to enable carplay while locked
2) bought a USB-C cord
3) plug the phone in before starting
Now it works flawlessly every time.
I have issues with it disconnecting when I have my Bluetooth hearing aids...
I’m running a ReadyLift 2” level with UCAs and put 295/55/20 ridge grapplers and I absolutely love the look feel and stance of the truck. A little firmer ride, a little more road noise, but it’s so insignificant, I don’t even notice. I only have about 3/8” clearance from tire to Upper Control...
I have 2 19 Rams (one for me and one for my 20 year old son):
Off the lot
Laramie 4x4 Lv1 Eq grp
May 2018 build
1100 miles
Issues:
Bad backup camera (blue screen when wet or cold) affected 8.4 nav operation including radio cutout - after replacement, no issues to report sir! I too love my truck...
Thank you! So does yours!
My boy is 20 and has one more year of college. His 3.75 GPA and hard work is paying off for him.
I got my 18 year old daughter a 2018 Cherokee this year for already completing 2 years of college courses locally with a 4.0. She loves it.
Oh, and I NEVER said that I...
This is an awesome post that I’ll need to save in case I want to do this “right” in the future. In the meantime:
I have a tonneau cover and I find that I need to turn the bed lights on very often while at the rear of my truck, so I went the easy route...
I purchased the lights from Amazon at...
