Woke up this morning to 3.2 volts on my battery.

Did you drive a lot less than normal the past year? I did and had battery woes with my previous vehicle. It was a Wrangler with 3.6 V6 ESS. It had two batteries and I just wasn’t driving it enough to keep the batteries charged and healthy. I took it in three times for service Before I was...

    What color is this interior?

How are the stock tires in the snow?

When I’m driving a 2WD pickup I always buy a couple bags of sand for the extreme winter months. Around here the big box stores have long skinny bags packaged for that purpose. In addition to the extra weight over the rear axle, if need be you can cut one open and use the sand if you do get stuck.

Is the used market really this crazy?

I got what I considered a good deal on my new Ram but what really made it sweet was my trade. This particular dealership treats the sale and trade in as two separate deals, they will buy your used car even if you don’t buy a new one. Anyhow my trade was a 2019 Jeep Wrangler, low mileage, as new...

Is your Dealership tracking your truck without your knowledge?

I did the same thing. Wonder if we will hear from Mopar?

Is your Dealership tracking your truck without your knowledge?

Mine actually had a little flashing button on the panel under the steering wheel. With one of the super deluxe monitored plans you could supposedly press the button and get roadside assistance or some such nonsense.

Real world MPGs / What are you averaging?

New 5.7 with 3.92 rear end. My first tank of gas got a little over 13 mpg. All city driving. No burnouts, power stalls or donuts but I do enjoy the freeway on-ramps. Seriously, I have been taking it easy until I get a few miles on the truck. I’m retired and don’t drive a lot of miles so I’m not...

    Siriusxm renewal

I like SiriusXM a lot, I had it in a previous vehicle and now 6 months free on my Ram. I just wish they didn’t play the games come renewal time.

    AM Radio

I use my AM to listen to conservative talk radio. Comes in loud and clear. I also listen to SiriusXM, I know it’s part of the deal but I wish it didn’t fade out in tunnels, under bridges and in the garage,

    WeatherTech Floor Liners Suck

The OEM Mopar rubber mats are pretty nice. Good coverage and secure mounting.

Is your Dealership tracking your truck without your knowledge?

It’s under the dash so it would be pretty hard to take a picture. They are a piggyback install. They are plugged into the diagnostic port under the dash for power and a like port is used for future diagnostics. The actual unit has an adhesive backing that is used to attach it to the inside of...

Is your Dealership tracking your truck without your knowledge?

There was one in my truck. The story I got was that the dealer used the Mopar device to keep track of the vehicles in their inventory then tried to sell said device to customer. If the customer didn’t want the LoJack type device, the dealer didn’t charge for the device but left it in the vehicle...

    Stop / Start

Just bought a 5.7 last week. Happy to say it does not have ESS.

    Dead Battery

I had battery problems with my previous vehicle. Turned out there was nothing wrong with it. The past year being 2020 I drove much less than normal and the battery couldn’t keep up. The vehicle had ESS and an intelligent battery sensor.

    Price negotiated from MSRP

I recently traded a 2019 Jeep Wrangler in on a new 2021 Ram 1500 Lone Star. I realize the deck is stacked against us when dealing with a dealer. Anyhow, I got what I considered a good deal on the new Ram. My negation was my trade. The dealer showed me the best deal, which was very good. I...

Why did you choose the V6 over the hemi?

I had what I think is the same 3.6 V6 in a Jeep Wrangler. Other than the ESS, I liked the engine. For my Ram I went with the 5.7 Hemi, 3.92 RE. I don’t drive a huge amount of miles so I am not too concerned about gas mileage, and the 5.7 is shoot to drive. …and yeah, the Hemi emblem on the hood...

Engine, rear gear, type of differential

Really enjoying my 5.7 Hemi with 3.92 rear end. With no ESS.

    Howdy from Fort Worth

I’ve been driving a Jeep Wrangler for the past few years and enjoyed it. But before that I always had a truck. I missed having a truck so I’m back. 2021 Ram 1500 Lone Star, Quad Cab, 5.7 Hemi. Hope to learn a little and contribute to the forum.
