You're being ripped off. My dealer mentioned a $300 cost for front and rear diff fluid. My dealer also charges $39.95 for my truck's oil changes. They have a $200/hr labor rate, so the plugs should be a 1 hour max effort. I would think everything you're getting done, by a non dealer service...
The auto tilt of the side view mirrors can be very useful if the manufacturer and the owner set it correctly.
My 2006 Silverado was outfitted with 2006 Tahoe mirrors. I had the drivers side set to remain in place, while the passenger mirror tilted down and in so I could see the parking line...
Ok. The clunk is GONE. The truck does feel more stable and I do feel the road slightly more than before. It only took almost 4 years to resolve but it was solid going over speed bumps that always caused the clunk.
Thanks for sharing this fix
I did the swap this morning. No other changes made so I will know if there's any different feel. I just haven't gone anywhere yet. I'll report back tonight as I know I'm going somewhere today.
I had painter's tape also, but unlike the video, I wasn't equally out on both front tires. Is the string method how it used to be done?
I just drove 20 miles and the truck was tracking straight and my wheel was straight. Thanks for providing the details on doing this. I thought I was going...
Yeah, I initially did by writing CW and CCW on the tape, but after my first adjustment not showing any improvement, I went the same direction another 1/2 turn and it went worse, so my CW and CCW needed to be reversed.
No issue, right? Just undo what you just did, but then the steering wheel...
Ok, so I did this today and completely messed up. I think I recovered from it, but who knows until I get another alignment!!
In the video, the S3 adjustment is made from behind the front tire. On our trucks, the adjustment is made in front of the tire, so where he shortened the length, I...
I just ordered the parts tonight. I hope it resolves my clunk. That's one of the issues that's bothered me for the longest time with this truck. If this fixes it, I'll be a happy camper!
I did the level and had no alerts until after the alignment. Granted, it was only 1 week between the two, but the dealer had issues with the alignment and did it 7 times. When I went to pick it up, the service dept was closed and the alert was on my dash. I showed a salesperson, that asked to...
The same dealer did my alignment. Can alignment affect the FCW? And yes, I was already out of warranty when this started. It would be nice if alignment can affect it somehow as I will then get the dealer to fix it since they broke it.
I think the FCW is the module under the plastic in the windshield. The front bumper sensors still notify me when pulling in the garage, but the dash doesn't flash red saying "BRAKE" when someone decides to turn slowly into a driveway from a 50mph road, like it used to.
I don't need technology...
I called another dealer for my service. They said I could bring in the truck, but the diagnostics will cost $149 an hour. After that, if the service manager is willing to request "good will" from Stellantis, he can, but it's his call. This other dealer has only done an oil change and another...
My wheel is slightly more to the left than on the S3 in the video. Anybody know how much adjustment goes how far with our trucks? Based on the video and the slight left that his wheel had that required only one turn, I probably need 2 or 3 full turns on mine if the amount of adjustment is the...
Back in May, I installed the Bilstein 5100s on circlet 5 for my Rebel. The truck was fine for the first week, but then I took it in for an alignment. After I picked up my truck from the dealership, the Forward Collision Warning light and Service FCW lights were on. The dealership said I can...
