Having owned 2 silver vehicles in a row I wanted something different (and I think the silver is too "light" too); I waffled between granite crystal metallic and maximum steel metallic and chose the latter after seeing them in person (in a row with the silver one actually). Hoping to receive...
I was originally planning on 3.21 myself for the (admittedly marginal) higher mileage, but wanted the extra tow capacity. Salesman said he personally only orders 3.92 (or similar) ratio for himself now as it is "more fun" and the MPG difference was 1-2mpg (which I pointed out was around...
My current rig is LS and locks (Land Rover LR3). In the 11 years since I purchased it they've only gotten better, BUT I also found that most of the time the "traction control" was just annoying, and when I needed traction (driving through deep snow, mud, etc...) I knew it and could lock the...
Last time I checked no 6'4" ramboxes are available; I expect them to come out right around the time I finally get my truck;). (I wanted the 6'4" ramboxes, but ordered what I could back in July). I've heard rumors they will be out, but haven't seen anything official.
Nice to see the Rambox trucks getting built quicker! That said, getting on a train seems to still take a while;)
Order 7/20
D1 8/25
KZ 9/21
Still waiting to get on a train (though I have moved yards!)
I'm guessing my dealer's estimate of 10/6 in Selkirk NY is realistic; hopefully I can take...
Looks like a great system if you don't have a ram box:)
I have lots of Yakima round bar parts and such around; if I can use landing pads (and I think I can now) I should be in good shape. I'll post images when it is all set up (of course, first I need the truck!)
That is a very helpful post, and I appreciate the dimensions too. The landing pads I have are 5"; there may be shorter ones as the space needed to actually attach the racks is smaller.
Awesome looking truck!!
Thank you for the roof shot - unless those black strips are hiding something (and I'm guessing no, though I wonder why they are there...) it'll have to be the type the clamps to the vehicle via the door openings.
For those wondering my plan - there are times when a truck bed is what I need, but a lot of the time it is just a place to keep things out of the weather, particularly larger items (skis, items for tractor or snow grooming equipment that are broken to bring down to the house for repair), and all...
I toss a canoe on the roof occasionally and am trying to figure out what options exist for the 2019 Ram (mine should be here in 10 days... next possible canoe trip with family in town is 12 days...). Are there points on the roof we can attach rack rail or brackets, or are the only options a bed...
I'm curious - how long were folks in KZ before their truck found a train? Ram Chat says up to 2 weeks (and I know a few of you probably sat there longer (or at least it felt like it!).)
I'm hoping no quality control issues - mine seemed to fly through the build (in D1 the 18th, "I" the 20th, KZ the 22nd). We'll see how long I wait for a train headed east;)
D1 yesterday, built and "I" today! Now to try and figure out the order of the codes normally (and how many days until it is sitting waiting to be shipped...)
Likewise (I needed bench seating up front.)
I ordered my air suspension Laramie 7/20 and went D1 8/25... so perhaps there is a hold on air suspension Laramie;)
I don't know about in the Ram, but in the LR3 if I recall correctly it only deals with braking (so if it is on and you get to a hill you need to step on the accelerator...). I've used it infrequently, but when I have it has been nice (creeping down long icy downhills, or steep gravel offroad)...
Looking at the tracking spreadsheet the trucks that seem to take longer right now appear to be Rambox, and maybe Offroad package. There are 4 of us over 8 weeks now I think (which is far better than it was a few weeks ago - nice to see all the folks who ordered back in May finally get built!!)
