Its not something you’ll notice just driving around empty, but when towing a heavy trailer or carrying some weight in the bed its quite obvious. I carry a 700 lb 4wheeler in the bed and haul a travel trailer too, I’m not doing that regularly with P rated anything tires.
It’s 2020, people have had AC issues since these trucks came out in 2018. If they haven’t addressed the crap AC system in 2 years of people complaining, it’s a pretty safe guess they aren’t going to.
I’m sitting at the dealer as I type this. It’s become a 50/50 chance on whether my radio will work from day to day since the update screwed everything up. Sirius XM loading on the screen and nothing working, no radio, volume frozen on previous setting and no hands free Bluetooth working. Beyond...
Ive installed the valve on two separate 5th gen rams now. The trick to not losing any coolant is to clamp the hose that goes the heater core, then attach your new piece of hose to the new valve with clamp tight around valve and clamp loose around water pump tube end of hose and make sure valve...
295/70/18’s are heavy, you would notice a significant difference in performance as well as MPG with the 295/70’s. Even on my 2500 diesel the performance loss was obvious, its gotta be even worse on the 1500.
So many choices
Falken Wildpeaks
Cooper Discoverer (AT3 XLT OR ST Maxx)
Toyo (the newest ones) AT3
Nitto Grapplers
Pick a style you like and give em a run. None are a bad choice.
Both are great tires, I went with the XLT's over the Falkens this time simply to save a little weight. But have ran both of them in the LT variety in every type of on and offroad condition and they both performed as well as can be expected. Cant go wrong with either.
I had to take mine to the dealer the other day as I couldn’t find an end around and nothing was working. They told me they fixed it and then yesterday it was locked up again. I have another upcoming appt before they order me a new radio. Kills me that I had zero issues with my truck and then...
If it doesn’t have LT in front of it , it’s basically a P of some sort. It will have the shallower tread depth and less plys and weigh less. The AT3W is the version most stores sell, the AT3WA is what our rams with ORG come with. The ones our trucks come with are not as good as the AT3W you can...
Because P rated tires were created to help improve fuel mileage while marginally covering load ratings. They are made with minimum ply ratings as well as shallower tread depth to shed tire weight. People used to own trucks , specifically 4WD trucks for a reason and need, nowadays they have...
Absolutely, I used to run Bridgestone Blizzaks on my truck for half the year when I lived in interior Alaska, night and day difference from any all terrain tire made!
I’ve been running the LT AT3’s since March and have had them in snow, rain, rough gravel and mud. They have performed really well. I have to have a LT tire and the Falkens are sooo heavy in the Lt’s, that I didn’t want that much affect on performance. Another good LT tire that the weight is good...
IMO there are tires that do well on ice and there are tires that do well in deep snow. Many of you choosing P rated tires over LT rated tires remember that the tread is much shallower on P rated tires than LT rated tires. FWIW, bigger voids in the LT tread bite better in snow and mud than...
