The only thing the McLube jockey Tech saw was the next text on his phone while changing your oil as it generally goes into a mass collection funnel when drained. Lost the filter…..sure. Imho, this sounds like the service adviser or manager filled in the tech follow up. Visual fine metal in...
Several good opinions were posted here, and knowing this now, I would do this if it were me.
My documented complaint to the dealer service would be this. “Every time I remove the dip stick there are metal shavings on it”. I would want this complaint and a documented response on the service...
Here’s something else you need to be aware of. If enough foreign material is allowed to be trapped in the oil filter (and these oil filters are very small now) if they become plugged up, the By-pass relief valve opens allowing any unfiltered oil to enter the oiling system.
This is NOT normal. Oil should be clear of any metal debrie.
I changed the oil in my 2022 Hemi first time last month (12- 2021) at 3k miles, and the bottom of the catch pan was free of any metal when emptied. I also cut the oil filter open (it’s marked Factory Installed on bottom with white...
A 113T tire has a load capacity of 2535#. This means that each axle will carry up to 5070#. Your truck probably has a GVWR of 7100#. The OEM tires (2535#) on your truck will easily carry the rated load.
I agree with others, higher rated tires (XL -2833#, LT- 3085#) can/ will be an improvement...
Not True on tire advice. A 113T load rated tire (Michelin Defender) is an exact same standard replacement no matter what brand tire you are purchasing. Exact same load rating and 44 psi maximum as the 20” Dueler 113T tires that come on the 2022.
If it were me, I’d run the OEM tires on the truck...
Here’s a recent post I made of my first tow in a 2022 that includes a review at the bottom of the P.1
https://5thgenrams.com/community/threads/first-tow-with-2022.36416/
Increasing the Dueler tire psi to maximum (44 cold) I believe can make an improvement. Same with the Helwig bar that is an...
If going 20” Continental Terrain Contact H/T, instead of the 113T Passenger sidewall, consider choosing the Load Range XL 117H sidewall if towing. The added sidewall strength will improve handling and not produce as stiff a ride that a Load Range E tire would.
Here’s how you quicky remove exhaust studs that are broken even with the head surface. I did this on both sides of my 2011 Hemi Ram @ 100k miles. You weld small nuts onto the broken stud and then twist them out with a wrench. Works perfect. I rented a small 120v welder from Home Depot to do the...
Both my new 2022 and old 2011 with LSD were exactly as you describe when on my lift. Wheels turn in opposite directions when not loaded.
Pull onto an asphalt road and do a power brake. You’ll see 2 nice black marks on the pavement when pulling away.
Got in the truck today driving for an hour. All my settings are the same and everything worked as normal. The Radio is now software version FCA-MY22.S21D.5-PROD
Pulling into the garage at noon just now I received this software update available (S21.D). Turned off the truck and pushed the install tab and exited. Prior was S21.C in my 2022 Laramie. I won’t be back into the truck until sometime late tomorrow.
So does this update while the truck is OFF, or...
Face it Dave, you’re taking that newer truck to the grave with you if they don’t pull you license prior.
I’m 70 and just updated from a 2011 Ram Sport w/ 179k miles to a 2022 Laramie that has over 3k miles on it now.
Agreed on the oil change frequency for towing.
2022 Hemi is same 7qts with filter. The 0w20 Havoline I purchased comes in 6 quart containers from Walmart that is a great deal online for $19.95.
That picture I posted is from the 2022 Owners Manual “PDF” file that you can download online. The actual printed manual that comes with the truck is Pages 385 – 386 that state the exact same information.
The factory has spent countless hours running these new engines to extremes on dynos and real world. I’m confident Chrysler knows exactly what is best and are using it. I’m following their service specifications for this truck and documenting it. I purchased a Factory Mopar 7/100 Maximum Care...
2022 First Oil Change
I have 1800 miles towing a 7k# trailer and a total 3,000 miles on this Hemi and did my first oil change today. The oil life indicator was at 65%.
I’ve read some of the other oil change threads and have to agree, the oil filter was very obnoxious to remove first time…...
