Big Horn sold orders are not worthy of a place in the production line yet. We will need to keep waiting while parts are going into trucks with VINs 2x, 3x and soon to be 4x higher than ours. Happy D status Monday! :)
Because I feel like my order will be sitting for months I'm almost contemplating buying a different truck just to get me through. Something like this that is already discontinued 9k and if they would honor the private bonus of $1500 I received too, then you're at 10,500 in discounts on a 51,000...
I don't think so. Been watching as well. Seems like we are being pushed to the bottom since we ordered Big Horns. I feel like only dealers are getting Big Horns and they are pretty stripped.
So I contacted a dealer and asked about a 2021 Rebel they have on the lot. I explained my situation....ordered first week in July and I sit in D status today. Here was his response to me (which seems odd).
"Congratulations on your new truck. If you have a deposit on a truck you should get it...
Went out to build my truck this morning over a cup of coffee...just to look at a picture anyway. Pop up for $1500 Bonus Cash. Awesome! Then, get the email, only for 2021s. Dangit. The pop-up didn't say anything about a model year so thought I scored a cash coupon for my 2022....not.
MSRP...
My dealer told me that he feels this is the biggest culprit for some of us. Midwest (WI) had a huge backlog to begin with. Who knows anymore. My patience running thin is only because I need a truck for a planned trip in Nov. Since my order just sits in D, I need to find a plan B which sucks.
Was cool to actually build a 2022 this morning (would be nicer to know they are actually building it). The only glitch in the backcountry is the pic leaves out the black headlamp bezels. Amazing what a difference headlights make in the look of a vehicle. I'm sure they will update that at some...
I sure hope a tonneau cover isn't holding things up for orders. I personally didn't want it but it came with the backcountry package. Id gladly say keep it and send my truck...not even looking for a price cut!
There are A LOT of Limited orders to get through (needing chips) before they worry about Bighorn orders that need tech chips. In the meantime, they will send dealers plenty of stripped Big Horns and Laramies. I may be better off ordering a Rebel with the things I want and see which comes in...
Seems like a little of both.
I've looked at a ton of dealer window stickers and the Bighorns, Laramie and Rebels they have coming in don't have a ton of tech. Like none have BSM and I only saw one Rebel with the Tech Group. So, they are making those for dealers but they seem to be lower...
Yeah, sorry, looks like that news is a couple weeks old. I just hadn't noticed. Wish they would update the dang build and price website. Sounded like there was chatter on Sunday about looking like updates were being made but nothing appears changed from what I see.
Maybe I'm behind in reading but I don't recall seeing the 2022 Ram Limited Red edition. On the build and price page, scroll to the bottom and under Special Editions you can watch a short video. Not my cup of tea but looks cool.
Exactly. Since I'm still in D status, I won't have to look too closely at the new build sheet list. I would love to get excited about my order again but it's getting tough!
