Oh man...stellantis screwed this pricing up. Why on earth would someone want to pay $50k (starting price) for this

My current ram...the start up ticking it's alot louder Than my previous hemi's (2020 Laramie, 2021 rebel with etorque).
But I just cough it up as normal.

Haha...we think alike.
I want to order a lower trim and throw some addins, just like I did with my backcountry. But stellantis might not let me do it.
For example when I placed my order in 2021 for my backcountry, I wanted a lower trim, but with goodies like the pano sunroof, 12" screen, and...
Curious to know if interested in getting one, what is your price range? For me...my price range for an entry ev would be $50-65k for the ev ram. I'm more than happy to sit in my current ram longer...but if they want me to buy one, it has to be cheaper than everybody else.

Well you have 7 years to figure out what you want to do. No need to go to full panic mode...lol

I think you are overthinking about this WAY too much. Nobody is taking anything away from you, not now and not in 7 years. I can 100% GARANTEE you that in 7 years, you will still buy a gas powered car....new or used.

That's for new cars and trucks. You will have a huge used cars and trucks to pick from. You can also go out of state and order something from Mark dodge..haha.
2030...ice engines won't disappear from the face of the earth like your making it to believe.

And I'm sure when gas vehicles came out in the 1900's folks with horses had very similar questions...about lack of gas stations (back then...there was no infrastructure) , transporting gas safely, and range of the model t...with dirt hyways and places to stop.
Only thing I can say is that it's...
Personally for me, I wouldn't buy it. I'm a naturally inspired engine fan...so anything forced induction....just doesn't appeal to me (maybe a hellcat engine). Extra expensive parts to replace after 100k that isn't the engine. Turbos aren't cheap.
But I'm sure someone else will. If ford can...
Yeah...I don't know about that one. I'm sure that the v6 turbo will sell, and they will make money from it Lots of folks are buying trucks...they can take a hit in sales and still be a solid 3rd place behind silverado and Ford f150.
2022 sales
Ford...653k
Silverado...523k
Ram trucks...468k...
Read an article somewhere. Last several years stellantis has given the NHTSA hundreds of millions of dollars each year for keeping the hemi around since 2018. Don't know about you folks but if I was loosing all of that money, I would change too.
Definitely sucks for us v8 lovers, but with no...
I get it...for some, it doesn't work out. For me, the gas saving alone will more than offset any extras I have to pay for having an EV. The longer I have the EV the more saving I get.
Not having to worry about oil changes and changing that god- forsaken oil filter location is a plus for...
I agree about the insurance part. Only real thing I can't put a number on. Not only that it will be more expensive compared to a regular 1500....what concerns me is that payload and towing number put it in the range of a 2500 ram..which isn't going to be good.
As far as pricing wise...I see...
Also, Depreciation on a gas vehicle is alot higher then an electric. Losing about 30% right off the lot with a gas truck. Not worried about tires, because that comes down to mileage. Tires are same for both. Mileage and age comes to play.
Editing my post. Since I can’t compare my driving to...
If your doing to do the math, don't forget all of the oil changes that come with it every 3-6 months...depending on mileage, while the ev you don't have that maintaince.
When you look at those numbers, it breaks even around the first 2 years. After that, the EV for the win big time because of...
I think that when gas is $10 a gallon that's when people will switch over. Besides...I'm dome with giving big oil companies money so they can inflate their prices by reducing the amount they produce. That's a global issue and not just a U.S. issue (you would be shocked with what Europe pays)...
I would love a rivian...but price is way out of my league...and finally it doesn't have apple car play, andriod auto.

I can only speak for myself and my situation. I live in the northeast where plenty of chargers are available. Someone maybe in the middle of the country might not have that option.
It would be cheaper for me to go electric...and I've just been waiting on better range. Now if they can make it...
My solar panels pay for my electricity. Also...when you do research on it, depending on the time you charge can be cheaper ( you can schedule it...all you have to do is plug it in). You cant control gas prices when they go up...but I can with electric. The numbers I have would put me at $20 for...
