I've been noticing that too since the start of production. The randomness doesn't make since. My $66k Rebel kept the Level 2, but I'm seeing $76K Rebels changed to the Level B ...I'd be pissed spending that much and have to settle for something less than I ordered.
That's a good point right there concerning the sales tax. Back in Oct when I bought the new Rebel, my dealer beat Carvana's offer by $2500 plus the tax relief.
I really don't know if it's due to a shortage or just **** poor parts management because dealers have reported receiving non G/T trucks in that have the G/T exhaust installed.
Been watching a few YouTube videos and just the opposite, some dealers are getting non G/T models in with the G/T exhaust installed. The02CumminsRAM channel on YouTube has a particularly good video called "First new OEM G/T exhaust? 2022 RAM 1500 Laramie 5.7 Hemi with a loud stock exhaust!"
The GT exhaust definitely has more growl than stock, but still pretty tame compared to the actual Mopar cat back aftermarket exhaust system made by Borla. They're not the same. I've ran Magnaflow on my last two trucks and will be doing the same on the new Rebel G/T.
I too have had the black screen on several occasions, along with the front speakers popping and crackling when I open the door until I start it, and if I put the truck in tow/haul mode, it'll throw a code and go into limp mode when I apply the brakes (code U0402). Shut it down and re-start, limp...
Looks exactly like mine. It's a very mild exhaust system and cold starts are the only time it actually sounds decent. You also get a little growl on aggressive acceleration, but any other time it's no different than stock in my opinion. I'll be installing a Magnaflow system on it here soon.
You might've bailed on your order, but you kept it in the family. Now if you had went with another manufacturer, Lord forbid, that would've been bailing ... Nice truck, congrats!
