I get this alot. Let me guess... You have very straight roads.
For whatever reason RAM decided that if the driver isn't making small wheel adjustments then they must be driving without there hands on the wheel. Then after a few warnings, it turns off the system.
It's really stupid and I...
12 speakers is still a lot. Imho, they could have just gone with that. It does sound good though. Except the sub like you say, which I replaced with 2 and now it sounds really good.
I can't imagine their 900w rating is RMS. I'm sure that's peak. (After all, they call it a 19 speaker stereo... When by most standards I think people would call it 12).
So cut it in half, assume 150w is going to sub, 300w to the remaining 11 ch. 25w is probably about right.
Thanks. I think this answers my question. I was wondering if the had a separate channel for each speaker or if some were wired in parallel. Looks like each has it's own channel. Now if only we knew how many watts RMS were being sent to each.
Yeah I had to check my windows too before putting back together and tape the harnesses to the basket all they wouldn't hit the window.
In regards to the deadening material and railing. I was able to put a fair amount on it without problem. Try to really apply and mold it to the back side of...
The 6x9s were cheap paper cone speakers.
The 3.5s weren't too bad. Significantly better than most stock. 2 way with synthetic cones and a metal dome on the Tweeter. They were loud but a bit shrill.
Subwoofer was mehh.
There are still holes by the bed hooks and other places. I was thinking of reaching up underneath and putting some black tape (obviously figure out the sticky side) over them. But otherwise I used an adhesive weather seal for the end hate.
If you'd want to at least isolate it to the ANC system, just unplug the harness under the drivers seat that attaches to silver box. You can access it from the back.
It'll shut off the ANC (and speakers). If you no longer hear the nose, you know it's the ANC system.
Personally I...
I think you should start with setting the amp gain.
I'd set the crossover on your amp to around 70-90 hz. Drop the bass on the head unit EQ to flat. If the amp remote is a bass Boost vs a volume knob, I'd set it 0. If it's a volume knob turn it full. Turn the head unit volume to about 75%...
I calculate or about .80 cf given its 5/8 mdf. So you're about 20% off the 'optimal' amount. Pink fiberglass insulation is worth a shot imho. Also, in box that is undersized, you'll typically have to over power to allow the sub to do what it is intending.
What is the power output on that amp...
