So, I have this sweet system coming in:
BDS 3-inch with Fox 2.5 Performance Elite Coilovers with Dual Speed Compression (DSC):
Instead of the Fox 2.0 Rear Shocks, I upgraded to the Fox 2.5 with Remote Reservoirs and DSC as well:
Since the system is basically the 4-inch Fox PE system for...
It only took about 3 years to finally hook up the backlighting on my Rigid 360 Series Driving and Spot lights. I used a Cali Raised Switch Controller and In-cab Panel as I also want to add some ditch lights and rear backup lights. The switch controller system is great as you only have to go...
I had to think about this some more and then it finally dawned on me that I should be changing my Fabtech 3-inch UCAs as well. On the BDS site for the 3-inch PE dop bracket kit, if you choose the UCA option, they state that they use an indexed ball joint cup to correct the ball joint positioning...
I agree that you can fit 35s with a 2-inch lift on the Rebel as that is exactly what I am running now with my Bilstein 6112 setup (actually, it netted just under 2 inches of added lift). I was just referencing what BDS says will fit between the two different 3-inch systems.
Regarding the UCAs...
Okay, I finally got it all sorted out with BDS with one last round of emails.
I basically stated that if I order the non-drop bracket 3-inch PE system for the Rebel, I will net out 2-inches of lift since that is the same system for both the Ram 1500 and Rebel (same part numbers). I could...
Further clarification from Scott Fox at BDS:
Hi Paul, the base kit components of the rebel 3 inch PE kit and the standard 1500 4 inch PE kit are exactly the same. There is also some adjustability in the coilovers themselves. I would go with the 3 inch PE kit for your rebel. It should give you...
I really want to believe that as it would be close to the perfect set up for me, but still struggling with the BDS response.
I had asked a few questions but really only got a response to my question about the new 3-inch systems.
My question:
There are two 3-inch Fox PE systems; one with coil...
But then I noted that the 1500 4-inch system will fit 35s and the Rebel 5-inch system will fit 37s (like the 6-inch Race shock system). So definitely a 6-inch system (but not sure why the 6-inch Race Series systems are not advertised the same way). Makes me wonder then if the BDS 3-inch drop...
The 5-inch kit is a hybrid kit which combines the drop brackets needed to correct the suspension and front drive train geometry while also providing superior coil-over performance. So yes, you have to do some cutting and welding to relocate diff brackets and add cross members, etc. I think...
On the BDS' Rebel webpage, I saw that BDS came out with a 5-inch Fox PE coil-over system; they advertised it as fitting both the Rebel (which I have) and the 1500. That is interesting because on the 1500 webpage, they show a 4-inch Fox PE coil-over system under a different part number but do not...
Honestly, two different kinds of shocks with different purposes:
Dirt Logic 2.5 Coilovers: definitely tuned more for higher speed Baja style running. They did provide a good balance between ride comfort, increased ride height/clearance (especially since getting close to 3-inches of actual lift...
Okay, I had my rant! I just can't part ways yet with the Rebel and the battery has not died again since my last episode a couple weeks ago, so I am back to wanting to keep it. But if it does leave me stranded again, I will definitely be giving it the boot.
So, I decided to tackle the install...
Talk about being a yo-yo!
Been doing a lot more heavy research on the dead battery issue and finding all sorts of potential causes and fixes. So I decided to try them all out to see if I can at least narrow down the field before making another complaint and bringing the truck back to the...
