    Desert Dawg Ram Rebel Build

Great, glad you can maybe use some of this for your build! The topper weighs about 180 lbs (unloaded), so really minimal impact unless your loading the truck to its maximum allowable GVWR at which time you need to account for the weight (I am never anywhere near that). But during normal use...

    Desert Dawg Ram Rebel Build

Haven't had time to splice together any off-road videos so thought I would post a couple of short clips (again, sorry for poor quality phone vids as I did not have my GoPro set up). Nothing exciting but thought it would be fun showing my kid try out the Rebel for the first time. First video is...

    Desert Dawg Ram Rebel Build

Fun little Lego robotics video that relates to some good off-roading principals; - Change out those street tires for off-road biased tires for increased grip - Use larger tires for increased contact and clearance for going over obstacles - Increase torque at the wheels with low-range four wheel...

    Looking for Lift/Suspension Advice

Nice! Dirt Logic is probably one of the more underrated systems out there nowadays since Fabtech doesn't market them anywhere near what Fox or King has done. Heck, most folks hardly know about them. Also doesn't help that Fabtech's reputation suffered from some miscues early-on (over a decade...

    Post your Rebel pics!

    @RockYacht2020 Nice setup!

My mostly chrome deleted, mostly badge deleted, Limited

Now we're talking! Looks great! I love mine; had used almost all of the bed cover options on numerous builds but my favorite (and most useful for me) were always the stylish toppers.

    Desert Dawg Ram Rebel Build

I like the the idea of laser cutting DD into the cover plate! But if I want to reuse the factory lower grille, it seems like the easiest solution is to cut into two sections that butt up on each side of the mount. Seen some powder coat the mount too in order to dress it some. But you got me...

    Desert Dawg Ram Rebel Build

Ha! I believe it as I was planning at least a couple of days especially since I am not the fastest mechanic and I always waste time trying to find stuff I lose in process...lol. For that reason alone, I am dreading taking off the skid plate and dissembling the lower grille insert as I just know...

Shifts and Grins Fabrication 2019 Rebel Build Thread

Totally onboard and excited to see what you come up with! Best of luck!

What did you do to your Ram today???

Sure, it is an ARE Z2 Series topper: You can find more pics and details in my build thread (links below): ARE Z2 Series Topper ARE Z2 Series Topper with Yakima Roof Rails

What did you do to your Ram today???

Thanks...I had looked into them several months ago and they had nothing for the 2019+ Rams at the time. I was thinking of fabricating something myself but you just saved me a lot of hassle. 😁

Skid Plate Poll Results First, thanks to everyone who weighed in on my poll and/or made thread suggestions on whether I should leave the factory skid plate as is or change out the color to a matte black in order to match the Rebel trim. As of today, 65% of respondents were in favor of changing...

BDS ball joint gives way... What a mess.

At first, I was a little miffed hearing how the shop threw the problem back on you (for a situation that may or may not have caused the issue) but I love the attitude you have; everyone was safe and move on.

    So many Rebels!

Yeah, I can definitely see that being an issue with a mixed crowd but was very curious as never been there and it did look scenic! I would love to try those trails out you mentioned. What a great time everyone had!

    So many Rebels!

Love seeing stuff like this! Was there any actual off-roading (sand dunes, crevice crawls, rock trails) on that route?

BDS ball joint gives way... What a mess.

Perfect, that will help a lot!

BDS ball joint gives way... What a mess.

Really sorry that happened to you but really glad it didn't happen at higher speeds! I am wondering (and I am sure BDS will bring this up) if it wasn't maybe due to faulty installation. Who completed the installation and retorque as BDS will ask and/or if you used a "BDS Authorized" shop as...

    Desert Dawg Ram Rebel Build

I already posted this in the General thread, but like to keep all of my build topics within my Build Thread too. My wife is amazing as she remembered a couple of things I mentioned that I should probably get the last time I took her off-roading. So for Christmas, she gave me a BushRanger...

What did you do to your Ram today???

Yes, a Hi-Lift jack won't work since I have the side steps/rub rails; the recovery trax were also part of her gift which was perfect since it turns out I need them to make the inflatable jack work to compensate for the lift/tires. Once it gets warmer outside, I am going to retest everything...
