@Cbty2050 - Dealer not eating the cost. As @myramtrx said in the post you quoted, the step bars shipped with the truck in a box in the bed.
I guess they wouldn't show on the build sheet or window sticker if they aren't installed? I wonder how that affects the warranty for them?
When are the step bars normally installed? Is it with the bedliner, tonneau cover, etc? Or during the actual assembly process?
It's interesting they were in a box in the bed as @myramtrx discovered, so it sounds like Ram is doing what they can.
Just so it's clear for everyone... From the program rules:

I'm also in process... I started calling dealers near me. I stopped after calling the first three who would all take Affiliate Rewards on an order.
Dealer I picked was super easy to work with. We built the truck in the order system and I was able to see the price. Wrote up the order for...
Moving from my unicorn 2013 F150 4x2 3.5 Ecoboost Supercrew with 6.5' bed. From order to delivery was 5 1/2 weeks!
Want something easier to maneuver but didn't want to give up the big bed so went with extended cab - 15" shorter vs my F150. Honestly, if Ford's Supercab didn't have the silly rear...
They do take their training seriously... Training on how to close a sale!
When most buyers only care about the color and what the payment will be, what incentive is there to actually be informed about the product?
The current $500 offer from PenFed doesn't require using the car buying service (aka TrueCar) or financing through them. You do have to sign in/up to be able to get it though.
For on-road driving, you'll be fine with 4WD and traction control (TCS) which includes Brake Limited Differential (BLD). BLD limits the torque to the spinning wheel by applying the brake vs. LSD which distributes some of the torque to the wheel with the most traction. However, neither BLD or LSD...
In addition to Lemon buybacks, manufacturers do "goodwill" buybacks as well. I bought a vehicle like that many years ago. It said something like "manufacturer took possession" on the history report.
I saw you placed an order mid-January which is around the time the news broke here on the missing step bars from the Quad Cab Backcountry. For what it's worth, I checked with RamCares when I placed my order for a Quad Backcountry at the end of March and was assured it would have step bars. I...
I assume you noticed your sticker doesn't mention step bars in the Backcountry package? It appears to still be true that they were dropped from the Quad Cab.
Why not just install clear protective film? Or wrap the lower part in a different color if the metallic black isn't to your taste? Something that can be undone later if needed is the way to go in my opinion.
