Anyone getting a 2025 with the I6 Hurricane?

It's amazing how so many people view truck payments as an evil, but they have no problem dropping hundreds per month on country club fees, golf equipment, hunting equipment, camping equipment, trips here and there, or whatever other hobby they enjoy. None of this goes with us. Whatever money...

    2025 brochure

Even Tradesman? Sounds like what Toyota has done on the new Tacoma. Safety package is standard across the board. Of course, we have to remember that "standard" doesn't mean you save money. They just lump it into the MSRP. But still, if the base models can now GET the adaptive cruise, that's...

Biggest tires on stock suspension/stock 20 inch rims

I had no rubbing anywhere. It was very very close at the splash guards, but it didn't touch. My wheels were 20x9 with +18 offset I think. Can't remember the exact offset.

Fluids Change Time (Transfer, Differential, Transmission)

Well, hang on a sec. There are two different machines that "flush" the transmission and lines. One is a "power flush" machine that forces fresh fluid through the system. The other is a machine that simply connects to the truck and allows the truck's pump to cycle fresh fluid through. The...

Biggest tires on stock suspension/stock 20 inch rims

I actually put 295/60R20s on. That was on my 2020 EcoDiesel North Edition. The North Edition had the Off Road Group suspension, so it sat slightly higher than a standard 4x4. With stock wheel offset, it was absolutely the tallest I could go without rubbing.

    Drive Line Fluid Changes

The axle ratio determines how many times your driveshaft spins to get 1 full rotation out of your tires. The 3.92 is a lower ratio (numerically higher) so the driveshaft will turn 3.92 times for every 1.00 turn of the tire. It's a mechanical advantage, that's why it's better for towing. The...

Anyone getting a 2025 with the I6 Hurricane?

And after all that, it's no where near as simple or accurate as pulling a dipstick. On a brand new truck? Few to none. Once the miles rack up? A lot. Also, this is the most power per liter they've ever mass produced. It will be very interesting to see how it holds up when it's got a 12k...

Anyone getting a 2025 with the I6 Hurricane?

Less payload – Already proven via charts shown on this forum Less towing- Already proven via charts shown on this forum More cost- Anybody can do basic math More maintenance and no engine dipstick- The requirements for this engine translate directly to higher cost of service intervals AND it’s...

Anyone getting a 2025 with the I6 Hurricane?

Sensor on the engine. And we all know that sensors never fail. Which part? I've got time for a good debate.

Anyone getting a 2025 with the I6 Hurricane?

Less payload, less towing, more cost, more maintenance, no engine dipstick, premium fuel required on the HO version, no MPG improvement in the real world, and 100% unproven for use in a pickup truck so far. That's a hard no for me. You guys be the guinea pigs. The only reason guys are...

    Trailer Tire Pressure Monitoring System

I still wish there was a universal screen that would read the Mopar trailer tire sensors. I'd like to use it in my Ford truck also. But I haven't found anything on the Web.

Anyone Considering The '24 Ram Dakota?

I've heard that many times before. I don't buy it, but I keep hearing that. So I looked up the specs on a 1995 Dodge Dakota compared to a 2005 Dodge Dakota compared to a 2023 Ford Ranger (or any new midsize truck). What I discovered is that the midsize class has gotten smaller, not larger...

Anyone Considering The '24 Ram Dakota?

Yep and that is precisely why the Dakota went away and so did the Ranger. The midsize market dried up for these very reasons. I think the reason the midsize market came back to life recently is because full size trucks got SO expensive that automakers realized there was now another opportunity...

Ram Pulls The Covers Off Of The Updated 2025 Ram 1500

GM has come a LONG way. They always had the ugliest truck on the road both exterior and interior as well as the worst reliability and engineering. But the brand new ones shock me. They have come so far in such a short time.

Grab a 24 or wait for 25s. Differences.

I had none of those issues with my Hemi engines. I would NOT buy a '25 without the Hemi.

Ram Pulls The Covers Off Of The Updated 2025 Ram 1500

"Updated" they say. No V8, less towing capacity, less payload capacity, no real world MPG gain, and more difficult to do maintenance at home. I'll pass. I will never buy a vehicle that doesn't even have an oil dipstick so I can SEE the vital lifeblood of my engine. No thanks. The Euros can...

    2025 brochure

So 2022 continues to be the model year to buy. The Hemi has more payload, more towing, and the same real world MPG. It's more reliable, easier to service, sounds nicer, and will certainly show better linear throttle response than any turbo engine. And, 2022 is where the nice features for the...

    towing capacities

At the end of the day, it's marketing. The 3.92 axle gives you 300 more RPM and POOF magically you can tow 2,000 lbs. more weight? Get outta' here... It's all marketing. Trying to push more options on people. Ford is really bad about that. The F-250 and F-350 are literally identical in...

BW 48-11 Auto transfer case to 48-12 swap

So I fixed mine by trading the truck off for a HD pickup. But, I had done some minor research on the topic before I did that and I saw some guys swap the 48-12 case right in. It'll bolt right up. As far as making it communicate with the truck, there were a couple of pins in the harness they...

Lets See Your BackCountry Trim Trucks!!

Interesting. I was just telling somebody a few days ago that I wouldn't be surprised to see Falken update the A/T3W soon. That tire debuted in late winter 2016 and I was one of the first guys to get a set. Still to this day the best all-terrain tire I've tested, and I've tested a LOT of...
