I'm thinking my transfer.case output seal leak was most likely causes by the dealer.
My differential was repaired with a new gear set which failed miserably. Then the entire rear axle was replaced.
Both instances would require drive shaft removal which most likely stressed the seal.
CORRECTION.
The dealer told me crankshaft on the phone. It is not.
It is the transfer case output seal. I inquired when I went to pick up the truck. Gasp.....
Mark,
Can you help us with this? My truck is at the dealer now and there is no software update available to correct the issue.
Please have FCA look into this.
Thanks!
From what I understand, you have to replace the entire bed if you want the MFT, at least at this point in time. I wish that were an option when I ordered my Longhorn.
Good luck! You'll love the Longhorn. I got the black and new saddle interior because I wanted natural wood over the black wood in the Limited. The Longhorn is just gorgeous!
I have a $70K Longhorn. It put me through hell and back the first year of ownership. The dealer has $15,000 of parts into it before the last repair of replacing the rear differential! Assembly quality on mine was abysmal.
But..... Over the weekend, I test drove both (2019 F150 ) Raptor and...
It's funny that you mention the static sound. I can hear that in my left (driver) rear speaker as well.
I also noticed that the loudness of the static is not affected by the gain (volume) control.
Thanks, that's good to know. I really didn't notice any pattern to it.
I know that one time I got in the truck and started playing around with my squeaky center console armrest, then started the truck and the sidestep was still deployed. That was probably about a minute or so before starting....
Just found your post. I started a similar thread because when I searched nothing came up.
My sidesteps do this as well. Sometimes they do not retract after self-deploying until I'm a few hundred feet to a quarter mile down the road.
I can't figure out any rhyme or reason for this. I'm afraid...
I could have sworn that I started a thread about a year ago regarding an issue that I encounter randomly with my power sidesteps. I searched my content and could not find the post. I wanted to see if there was a software update that resolved the issue.
Anyway, sometimes my power sidestep does...
Mine does the same thing. It's really annoying! Going to the dealer Tuesday for a fluid leak. I plan to ask if there is a flash to fix that problem. You have to wonder what they were thinking when they programmed that logic.
All the other vehicles that I've owned with automatic climate...
Geez, we ought to start fixing these things for FCA instead of the dealers.
I don't think my rear window rattles yet, ior maybe that's what the sub causes to vibrate...
Here is the flocking tape that I used. It is 4mm thick. Those black plastic Velcro hooks will not move around in their retainers anymore. I still do get some headliner noise though. It must be, as someone else said, the headliner touching the edge of the roof rails...
Got another picture from above the skid plate. I'm really too arthritic to be crawling under the truck, so it's a little out of focus.
I do see a drop of yellowish fluid on the housing. Not sure what it is. But...
What brand and model number did you install?
I took my cheap LEDs out and reinstalled the original incandescent bulbs that were in from the factory. I have not had the "key fob not detected" error since. It's been a week now.
I did purchase a Diode Dynamics HP5 to try but haven't installed it...
Thanks for all the helpful advise. I had the engine oil changed back in June. If the dealer really did change it, (there was no sticker) I would think that any spilled oil would have subsided by now. The oil is very thin and clear so at least it doesn't look like it is coming from out of the...
You guys on this thread appear very knowledgeable about these trucks.
My 2019 Longhorn with only 3,000 miles on it has developed a leak. I found it by noticing oil drops on my driveway. I looked underneath the truck and found a very clear thin oil dripping off of the first skid plate (I have...
