I love my truck as well. There is no other truck out there that rides as nice or is as luxurious. But... at the end of the day I want a reliable vehicle. From what I've gone through with my truck so far, there is just one example after another of problems and issues. Just when I think I'm in the...
I'm glad your 5.7 does not exhibit the lifter clacking. Possibly it is because you are using premium filters and oil.
It's a crying shame that we have to go the extra mile and use parts other than Mopar to put a bandage on an inherent engine flaw.
I just had my oil changed 2 weekends ago...
Is this an issue with the 5.7 liter engines that have cylinder deactivation, or do all hemi engines have this flaw?
I have so many issues with this truck, the last thing I need is another problem.
We lose our a____ on trade-ins...
My truck has the lifter clacking noise as well. It has lasted as long as a minute at one point. Normally it goes away after 5 to 10 seconds of running after a cold start.
The cold start clacking started right around 5,200 miles. I did my first oil change around 2,200 miles and did the second...
Glad I found this thread. I have the 5.7 liter non e-torque engine. My Longhorn is a definite lemon, so yet another problem doesn't surprise me in the least.
I just recently started hearing the clack, clack, clack at cold startup. I figured it was a lifter, valve, cam sort of issue.
My truck...
I got the same exact story out 9f the service manager at my dealership. Different manufacturers....... What wonderful quality control!
The area manager looked at mine and claims it is normal. What a bunch of.
Here's my almost 9 year old Hyundai Santa Fe. It's been a very high quality vehicle with zero issues. What a difference a brand can make!
Here is a picture of a 2019 Ford F150 Limited in their version of the same color. The Ford dealer gave me the truck to try out on a Saturday afternoon...
FCA claims mine is "normal" as well. They just aren't taking responsibility for the slop they put out of their factory.
I'm sorry, but I also own a 2011 Hyundai Santa Fe in their version of the same color. You can see very slight differences between the plastic and metal parts, but nothing as...
It's listed in my information below my posts. 9/24/2018 on second shift. I would have thought that after they had been building this 5th gen for that long that quality would have been on par.
It's really sad. FCA has a world class design and top notch interior materials. But..., they have...
My truck has got to win a prize for most abysmal quality. Before the rear differential was replaced, the dealer had $15,000 worth of parts into my truck. I can't even imagine how many labor hours they have into it.
Now I've been waiting over a month for a new transfer case output seal to come...
A level 3 technician took that all apart and put it back together with no new rattles.
Unfortunately they scratched the center console and driver door panel. That was back in June 2019. They replaced the center console, but I'm still waiting for the door panel. It's on back order.
I can top that one! Here is a picture of mine. The dealer had to take the entire interior apart to find a noise. It ended up being an extra loose bolt that the idiots at the factory left inside the heater box.
I have an extended warranty as well. I'm going to need it as my truck literally lives at the dealer.
Now it's got a bad transfer case output seal.
If you find anything out about the 4wd noise, please let me know..
Had my truck at the dealer for other repairs. While it was in they checked the climate control function.
The dealer stated that the high speed fan at startup blowing out cold air is normal operation.
Yeah, they just don't get it.
I told them all the other vehicles I had with climate...
The sad thing is, I've heard stories like that before.
In my case, it was either an acvident that somebody dropped it in and was to lazy to retrieve the bolt or a disgruntled employer threw it in.
It drove me crazy until I was brave enough to bring the truck into the dealer to find out what...
The tech that gets stuck working on my truck each time is a level 3 tech.
He certainly did a great job taking the entire interior apart to remove a factory installed extra bolt rolling around in the heater box.
