The 891s would go loose at full drop on a lift, but my shop never reported them coming out.
The shop has said the 893s stay in place. And I can verify that as I had to tape my upper spring isolater in when i installed both the 893hds. When i just swapped them out the tape was in the exact same...

Seems to me the consensus is that the OEM ones are trash. My drivers side is shot after 23k miles…
Some have used the suspension max ones with success. I have a set but haven’t put them on yet.
RockAuto came through and got the part to me this afternoon.
Interesting enough there is a small plate…spacer…whatever it is…that i had to pop off the old one and onto the new. Took my time and worked it off. Then secured it onto the new top plate.
Got it all reassembled and the test drive...
Fortunately we have a beater after the fiasco of the truck being in the body shop for a prolonged time last year, and its motorcycle season finally.
But im just as annoyed that the bolt is able to be removed from the upper strut mount plate…but apparently they don’t exist separate from the...
Where the heck were you hours ago…Ive been angry drinking and aure could hav e used this perspective 🤦♂️
I ordered the same part from rock auto and carid…now they get race to see who gets the part to me first. Looser is getting a return
Incase anyone was curious
The top strut mount plate bolt is an M10-1.5 and THEYRE FRIGGAN IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND JUST THE GOT DANG BOLT.
Super excited about two day shipping a whole new upper plate cause i applied one too many ogga duggas to putting the strut back in.
Im using the billstein 5100s for the lift. The 3rd notch is just under 1” of added height. Double benefit it gains that height by preloading the springs which tightened up the front end a bit. Truck feels amazing now
When i installed cargomaxx 351-893xhd springs last week i needed to lift the front some to compensate so it didnt look like an old derby car with 6ft of rake. Added 1in to the front and im happy with the look and drive, just hoping it does slightly better than the hd springs I had in.
While...
Sucks this is happening
I wouldn’t say the dealer is necessarily full of crap. Other eTorque members/owners have been sent home to drive it as is until an ET component arrives, but it seems at least the other owners were told the truck is a ticking time bomb.
FWIW
Here is a screenshot from an install video showing the orientation of the upper isolator. His notch is pointed towards the rear of the vehicle..where i have mine pointed inward.
If this is the same across all rams w/o the ORP than i have mine orientated wrong 🤦♂️
NO idea of that matters...
Nope. Stock as heck. I have the the 5100s set to the 3rd notch which is about 7/8th inches of lift. As far as I know they dont need replaced until 2in or so.
I also recommend 351-891HD or 351-893HD. Ive run both.
Both made the ride a LITTLE (intentionally emphasized) stiffer, but really not at all. The truck rides like a dream unloaded with all three sets ive run so far. I routinely drink coffee from a regular open top mug while driving, and the...
I’ve both traveled a long distance for a purchase and used the deal from a long distance Dealership to get the deal at my local dealership in the past
The downside is definitely that your local dealer could be reactive if you looked at them first and then ultimately come to them later with a...
I’ll putting in some new cargo Max springs yesterday I noticed on the inside of my driver side upper perch that it looked like my spring was contacting the perch at some point. I’ve been chasing an intermittent clunk, and I’m wondering if that may have been it…
The install went fine and I put...
351-893HD (top) vs 351-893XHD
Installed the xhd set today, ended up also putting my front 5100s to the 3rd notch (+1in) to offset the rake from all the height gained with the new springs.
My current stats are:
F- 37 7/8”
R- 40 1/2”
The xhd drive exactly the same as the hd springs did, which...
Im not sure if they are just stiffer all the way or if they will be the same spring rate as your OEM but just taller to allow for more squat. I’m not sure about the return policy, but I would take a look at it and make sure that if you put the springs on and decide you don’t like them you can...
