They baked in the security feature that the Truck won't recognize the keyfob from more than 20ft away to unlock it, and sometimes not more than 2 ft away to start the truck on button press... or maybe that's not a security feature.
How much did you all shorten your links on the front?
My truck rear is still 2" taller than front even with shaving off the front level links 1/4". Not sure how much more I want to chop off of it.
I installed my B2 Magnaflow today. Fit and finish of it is nice.
The rubber exhaust supports were a total nightmare to remove, even with support removal pliers. I had to soap them up, and even then they were a bear.
I got mine installed yesterday. Went on easily. Hardest part of it was removing the existing rubber hose. I like it. Fits well. Looks nice
I bought the recommended drain kit (Mishimoto Compact Baffled Oil Catch Can Petcock Drain Kit ) with the pre-order. Not fond of the drain. It...
FYI: It's been 32 days since I ordered a BT Catch Can from Moe's, and they still haven't shipped it. They haven't refunded as they said they would 2 days ago either. Luckily I used paypal, so I am having to open a dispute.
Just an FYI, if you order a catch can from Moes in any particular color, it'll take 3-4 weeks for them to do.
Just found that out, since I've been waiting a few for mine.
So far so good. Haven't had it on enough miles to get a good mpg read. Next fill I'll hand calc.
Disconnect the negative battery for about 2 hours before you install, so that your truck forgets the air rate it had with the stock Cai.
Also, the 45degree small hose for the oil air hose/filter...
I installed mine this weekend. Took about an hour, with teaching my 12yo about engines and cutting the plastic trim.
You will need a long neck funnel for an oil change.
Since we are looking to get more bad weather in the next few days, I applied some window treatment. Gyeon's Quartz Q2 View. Hoping to see some benefit.
Once the storms are over, I'll de-salt, and this spring paint correct, and ceramic coat the whole truck.
There are 2 power wires, and a ground. Red power wire goes to always on. Yellow power wire goes to AUX. There is a little device on the kit, that you set the minimum voltage that you will allow the battery to drain to, and then it'll shut off the power.
If power is flowing on the AUX, then...
I'm on conference calls often when driving to meetings. Waze + phone controls on bottom is great.
Love the 12" unconnect.
Plus I can rub it in my Tesla owning co-workers faces that I have a large display too.
Dashcams that are hardwired and have Parking mode enabled only hace 6-12 hours of available power from the battery before the battery hits 12.4v, the safe cutoff point of the battery so you don't drain it too much. So many add a battery isolator and second (deep cycle) battery. In this case...
Many cams have parking mode. I use the Viofo 129 duo for it.
As far as cloud service, that's trickier. Your cam needs internet access, such as tethering to a phone. The internet from uconnect would not be enough, it would cost a ton. A few cameras have this feature though.
Better off...
Finally got my Undercover Elite LX tonneau cover delivered and installed. Painted/color matched from factory.
Looks nice. I'll add weatherstripping to a few areas of the tailgate.
They changed the lock so that you can no longer use your truck key to open it. Support said that previous...
Good plan. I'll hunt around. I've seen some docs for 2018 promasters, but they have an inside fuse box made for this.
The HD trucks run dual alternators, bit different setup.
