Hopefully the update takes care of it. I'm not too concerned about it long term since I believe they will eventually get it figured out. But all the trucks that have gotten a check engine light so far, definitely feels like it's most likely related to the high idling at start up imo. I was...
I timed it on my truck, it took 1 minute for the idle to come down after starting it up from inside the truck. But, I did notice a short stumble while it was idling high. Happened only once but was probably a misfire. I won't be surprised if I get a CEL at some point. (My truck was built in...
I am wondering what I should expect to pay to have protective film applied to the front bumper and also that piece in between the headlight and front bumper. Anyone do PPF to the front? And how much did it cost you?
Pic of front of Ram.
If I remote start it from inside my house, it usually starts to lower the idle as I'm getting in the truck. I didn't time it, but definitely a couple minutes. If I just start the truck normally, I usually don't wait before I start driving, so it could be 30 seconds in that case.
I didn't say other cars didn't initially rev high at start up but they start to settle down immediately in my other cars. This truck will stay revving at 1600-1700 rpm's for a few minutes. From outside the truck, it doesn't sound great and draws your attention to it. My other cars, everything...
Seems a little high to me, but if others say it's normal for the 2025's, I feel a little more comfortable about it. Just doesn't sound great or sound like the smoothest idle either. Sounds like the computer is making adjustments at times until the idle starts to come down. I have 5 cars...
Well I have seen discussion of issues with check engine lights maybe being associated with a misfire at startup. So until that happens to me, I won't worry about it, but I wouldn't be surprised if that is the case, that maybe it's related to the way the engine is programmed to run at start up...
Thanks for that info. I'm not sure why it needs to run that high at start up, especially when it's not even cold out, but I would definitely prefer a less revved start up.
I have about 1500 miles on my Laramie. I am averaging about 19.7-20mpg per tank full, hand calculated at fill up. This is about 1.5mpg better than I was getting with my hemi with similar driving, so can't complain. On the dash, it is showing me a 20.3 mpg average which is a little generous...
Picture of my RPM's on cold start. Is this normal? No issues with the truck at all, but seem to be getting mixed info on what is considered normal rpm's on cold start.
With my SO for example, today I used the remote start to start it and the rpm's were around 1600-1700 when I got in the truck. If I wait another minute or so, the rpm's start to come down. That's the one thing I don't like about the truck besides the exhaust note from the outside of the truck...
The one thing I don't like about my hurricane motor is that it does rev high on cold starts. That and the sound. Could definitely sound better. Other than that, I have been impressed with the motor once I am in the drivers seat. I do think the tuning on cold startup could be adjusted better...
Added DualLiner bed liner. I like it more than I thought I would. And super easy to install. Also added a BakFlip tonneau cover that was taken off of my previous truck (no pic).
