What year and model is your truck? It was my understanding the solid grills were one piece. All of the light bars I have personally installed have had the mesh lower grill but had a U shaped solid piece that unclips very easily from the backside. Perhaps you can sell your grill to someone on...

I personally haven't installed one on an ecodiesel so hopefully someone that has can chime in. I have a local customer with an ecodiesel that may be interested in one but I haven't heard for sure yet.

Yes there is room to add a hole higher if you wanted the bar to sit higher.
