Disconnecting the battery and reconnecting will cause some systems to reset. If you want to let the systems re-initialize and not deal with anything do this:
Do the swap outside with visibility to the sky. After reconnecting the battery, just leave the truck alone for about an hour. Don't...
The guy is asking about water intrusion because he suspects the RF Hub. If the FOB isn't communicating properly it could cause the issue you are seeing. Problem here is you could replace the component yourself but it needs programming to your FOBs that only the dealer can do, you can't DIY that.
And well you should be disappointed. The whole window thing is a debacle on the part of Stellantis. I had the leak, but mine was the seal not a crack in the frame. Killed my RF Hub and had mold in the carpet because it had been leaking for years. For me from the dealer it was "You have the...
Something I don't get is why USB connections don't have any kind of cable lock in their standard connectors. Think of a RJ45 connection. It has a small clip that engages and holds it in there. Maybe it's because that would defeat the convenience of a USB device. Unless you build your own...
Well I am seriously impressed with your diagnosis and capability to fix. Fantastic.
I wonder if water got to it. It resembles the RF Hub enclosure which we know is not water proof.
I've never heard of this one. Sorry you are experiencing this. It's never convenient to take it back to the dealer but that's your only option. Hopefully they can quickly fix it.
My dealer had a "glass guy" but it wasn't Safelite. I am sure you are right that they contract it out. I just felt more confident with Safelite directly. It was less money than the dealer quoted me, but they also used an aftermarket window. But with the warranty I am ok with it, although I...
This is why I took mine to Safelite. Thats all they do is windows and glass. The dealer wanted to do my window but I decided to go with Safelite for obvious reasons. It also came with a lifetime warranty that also includes any consequential damage if the window ever leaks. I do understand...
Haven't seen the issue but have you tried a soft reset?
Park outside, unlock vehicle, open hood, using a 10mm wrench remove the negative wire from terminal of the battery
Leave disconnected for 30 minutes
Reconnect the wire and leave truck alone for an hour. Don't open the door, NOTHING.
After...
Funny how the leak is a manufacturing assembly/installation process issue. Safelite knows how to install a back window so it won't leak. I said funny, make that hilarious.
I second this. Although I didn't know about the dome light trick. I just leave mine disconnected for a half hour. Then reconnect and leave alone for an hour, not opening a door or doing anything else. Then give it a try.
A guy with 3,956 messages probably can be trusted though @Willwork4truck
So this is confusing. Obviously you would not see a lit triangle unless a vehicle was in your blind spot. If you do not see that triangle light up when a vehicle is in your blind spot then there is something wrong. If you saw it up until 3 weeks ago and don't see it now, you have an issue.
Is it due to water leaking in around the back window? I would assume so. If you are paying out of pocket for these RF hubs then somehow you need to fix the root cause of their failures, agree? I ended up getting my second one covered under an auto insurance claim. They paid me for the RF hub...
FYI I am on my third RF Hub. First one was replaced under warranty. They said it wasn't due to water intrusion. Even though I think it was but they said it wasn't. Ok with me as warranty paid for it. Second one was from water intrusion thru the back window. First time they ordered new fobs...
I want to resurrect this thread because my outside temp sensor always reads about 5 degrees higher than the temp reported by news channels and weather apps. Is there a way to calibrate it?
Also on all my BMWs I have owned over the years the outside temp is integrated with the climate control...
