Congrats. Sounds like you got a good one. It’s starting to get up in the 90s here in Central Texas with 100 plus days coming soon. I clamped off my heater hose yesterday for the start of summer and I can get about 48 degrees out the front, driver’s side vent. That’s about 7 to 8 degrees...
Let us know if they fix it for you. Blowing 68-72 degrees doesn’t sound like the issue a lot us have been dealing with. Most of us were getting cooler air out the vents than you were getting, with the coolest air coming out the front, passenger side vent.
Feel free to try and get FCA to fix it for you. They want even acknowledge that there is a problem. Maybe you can convince them where many others have failed.
The hack is clamping off the heater hose or install a valve in the hose where you can close it when the weather warms up. You might search the word “hack” to find details and pics.
My choice probably doesn’t help you much because I kept the stock 20 inch Longhorn wheels and added 285/60/20 Ridge Grapplers. But I’ve noticed no change in ride quality and just a little bit of increased road noise which is not bad at all. My truck is neither lifted or leveled.
Thinking about installing the Hellwig. I don’t anticipate towing very often, but I’ve heard it makes the truck a bit more stable in turns. The ride is already great and I wouldn’t want to do anything to change that. Can you give us your thoughts on how it’s affected your ride? Thanks.
Cleaned up the truck and finally got around to cleaning and dressing the plastic trim. The trim was pretty dirty so I used Mothers Back to Black Trim Cleaner and some elbow grease to give it a good cleaning. It left the trim looking pretty good but I might go pick up some Mothers Back to Black...
You’re welcome my friend. I like the set up. And I think the Longhorn wheels are pretty nice and I see no reason to swap them. The Ridge Grapplers have turned out to be excellent tires. Gives the truck a more beefy look and of course the A/T tires give a little more off road confidence.
