I work in manufacturing, quality is a dark art. But you’d think that given your vin they should have records to be able to see who was on the line at that station when that truck was built. And when crap like this comes up on the interweb, there would be some accountability.
I’ve posted this...
So after a lot of reading and consideration I think I’ve decided on bags. (Correction: ordered air bags)
Sumo’s are $280-300 (blue - black) plus shipping. Timbrens are $275 (and I *think* equivalent to black sumos), shipping included. Timber Grove bags are $385 + shipping. For $100-150...
I have the same question. Sumo/Timbrens, or for ~$100 more timber grove airbags. I have a 24’ 10k car hauler. So far I’ve only towed it empty about 350 miles. It’s chatty but not overly so. No issues with big trucks (even in a tunnel - 2 lane oncoming traffic) but I haven’t experienced...
I looked at GMC. Fit/finish (especially interior) is just disappointing. I’ve never been a fan of GM, but there’s no denying the LS engines are rock solid. The issue I had was finding inventory - it’s down everywhere (especially ford since it’s model close out). Managed to find my unicorn...
It’s just 100x easier to get the 6’4” crew from the get go. I insisted on 6’4” initially and it limited my selection. The second time around I found exactly what I wanted - they’re out there. The turning radius on the 5’7” is still massive, the difference to the 6’4” is negligible. It’ll...
In my bighorn, the usbs on the back of the console (for rear seat passengers) stayed hot with the key off. Good for charging the kids various devices. Haven’t checked the Laramie yet..
With trailers it’s almost always a grounding problem. Growing up we had several home made trailers and the lights rarely worked once we got out the driveway - after a while we just stopped trying. Registration was usually expired anyway too, but those days are long gone..
If you’ve got access...
What kind of trailer is it? My brand new Haulmark car hauler was rusting in less than 2 months. Warranty claim the found it was just steel shavings from the self taping screws between the aluminum molding and the aluminum skin. (Had a dozen or more spots like this, this was the worst. Still...
First truck didn’t have it, second does.. I did have a Rhino-liner Spray in liner in the first truck - $600ish? Wanted rails but never got them - I thought they were 3-400 max (w/o divider). Lights are meh. Still might add leds under the rails even with the factory lights. Didn’t want the...
My Laramie has all the packages, so while it’s only level 1 is has everything except the multitude of drivers aids (has blind spot, cross path only). Memory seats, gloss black trim, HD 9 speaker alpine. The number of differences between it and my bighorn level 2 are impressive (and some came...
Agreed. I shopped ferd & chebby. My first car was a 68 mustang (302, 4brl, headers, small cam), I bled blue for a long time. GM’s fit in finish is still frustrating but the LS mill is an easy no brainer- it’s just too good. The older ford small blocks are good, the 4.6 was meh, the coyote I...
I have no interest in an electric car, truck, motorcycle or even bicycle. Just none. The forgotten part of all of this is the infrastructure. Even heavy urban populations are still single digit percentage ev take rates. What happens to our infrastructure when 20-30-40% of cars are...
Years ago I thought Goodyear’s were good tires until I realized I’d NEVER made it close to the mileage advertised with round tires. They either prematurely wore (18k to BALD on my 04 Titan) or went out of round well before they were out of tread. Long before they got political (also a deal...
My 19 did not have ORG, my 20 does. I only measured the bottom of the receiver and the ORG was only .5” taller I didn’t measure the front but ORG feels taller from the drivers seat. (I keep trying to adjust the seat down. Sport hood too so maybe it’s an illusion.) Yet the rake seems more...
210 miles in the clock, truck went into mds for the first time. So ~ 200 miles is key. A little harder to hear over the off road tires (wildpeak a/t) but definitely there.
Actually yesterday. Installed running boards so my wife can get in... APS iBoards from amazon $220 shipped. Less than an hour to install but I had minimal overspray and didn’t need to clean the threads (cleaned a few before I realized it wasn’t necessary). Boards can be adjusted fore & aft...
