I've been waiting for this myself lol. I'm still considering buying a Ram 1500 but not at new price with all those issues. Hopefully used prices fall to a nice level in a couple years.
Are you guys sure it's not just MDS (cylinder deactivation) or hemi shake? They even installed those ATMM (Active Tuned Mass Modules) to try to reduce it but it's still there...
I've actually been looking forward to the used market tanking on the 2019 Ram 1500. Right now most people still want around $50k for a fully loaded used Ram, when you can buy a loaded one brand new around $50k after discounts (MSRP $70k). I'm waiting to snag one in the low $40k or $30k range...
Don't feel bad. Most of your problems arent unique, you just have a dealer willing to make it right. A lot of people are just told to deal with it (and surprisingly, they do). Not everyone comes to forums like this either.
I've had the same problem with my 2015 Chrysler 200 C AWD (another FCA...
That would probably require a redesign from engineering, retooling, and retraining the assembly crew. FCA's motto on most of these things seems to be "don't bother unless it starts to affect our bottom line through bad PR/loss of sales." There probably aren't enough Ramboxes in the wild (and...
From what I can gather from the various posts on the forum, it seems like there is a defect where water can come through the frame/body seams (the seam the weather gasket sits on). Technically you could fix this by sealing the seam with silicone or something, but the correct resolution would be...
To be fair, if you're actually an audiophile you probably have a drive plugged into the entertainment system with all your FLAC files on (ripped from the CDs you own). The CD player is redundant (unless you seriously keep a binder of CDs in your truck like it's still the 90's, to each their own...
They do (use an algorithm). It tries to estimate how much stopping distance is needed if the car in front of you suddenly slammed on their brakes based on your current speed.
The problem is, as you say, traffic. People will cut you off if you drive at a safe distance. It comes down to how many...
These systems seem to have a bit of lag. Even in my 2015 Chrysler 200 (same safety systems) if I change lanes while too close to someone or while going around a curve the system will freak out and start showing "BRAKE ! ! !" on the dash while blaring an alarm at me even though there's nothing in...

Sounds like there is a TSB for it and the steering rack usually gets replaced as you said.
If you mean frame twist, then yeah it's normal for trucks (some brands flex/twist more than others).
Here's an old video showing it a bit (I've seen better videos but can't find any at the moment):
The benefit of 4WD over 2WD is that 4WD obviously has the option of supplying power to any of the 4 wheels rather than just 2 of them.
The benefit of the LSRD (Limited Slip Rear Differential) is if 1 of your 2 rear wheels slip, it will redistribute some of that power to the opposite wheel to...
It might be related to the holes/gaps people are finding (hole in the driver-side firewall, grommets not being installed correctly, rear of cab being sealed poorly, etc.). Might benefit from sealing some of those up to reduce possible high frequency noise.
I kept getting something similar (ABS and AWD errors) in my 2015 Chrysler 200 (similar safety tech used in the Rams as far as I know) and in the end my entire rear differential had to be replaced. Curious to see what it ends up being on the Ram.
With all the other build issues (like the unseated rubber grommets causing water damage) I wouldn't be surprised if we start seeing more trucks pop up with similar evap line issues.
Hope this at least resolves the issue for you.
Don't let anyone downplay your issue. I've seen so many water leak posts on this forum it isn't funny. Search the other threads about leaks to find various resolutions. So far I've seen fixing grommets that were installed incorrectly and using silicone to fix leaks near the firewall.
I keep seeing this pop up and I don't understand it. At what imaginary MPG is a truck owner allowed to complain about MPG? 10 MPG? 5 MPG? 1 MPG? When someone trades in their old truck (Ford/GM/Chevy/Toyota/whatever) for a Ram 1500, and then realizes the 1500 is getting HALF of their old MPG, why...
I think you're all making the same argument you're just using static prices. The point seems to be that getting more than roughly 25% off the MSRP isn't likely. Anything above roughly 22% off MSRP should be a good deal, correct?
