Installed the Paragoptics ambient lighting retrofit today in my Rebel. Other than being time consuming there was nothing overly difficult about the install. Took about 4.5 hours.
Went with Red on the doors and dash with cool white foot well lighting.
If you have the base system it should be 6 speakers. One in each door and one on each corner of the dash. Crutchfield has a nice layout of all three systems available in the 5th gen Rams.
Some orange peel on the sides of the Rams seems to be common. But, without seeing pics it is hard to say if what you have is normal or not. Look inside the jams and see if you notice any over spray. That's a usual sign that paint work has been done. If not then it is probably factory paint...

No, there is a base speaker package, an Alpine package, and a Harman Kardon package. All three have different types of speakers. They are all technically stock depending on which speaker package your truck is equipped with.

Like this? Turned the hazard lights on then used the color slider in the Diode Dynamics app to match the hazards. Followed that up by saving the color as a favorite.
