I got PPF after a road Trip to Florida. Touched up the small nicks I got from the trip and had the PPF put on. Should have done that first, best money I spent for peace of mind.
Been there, and it’s unnerving. I ll park the furthest spot away, in the open, where there’s no one around. And even then, I’ve come out and a car will be right next to me.
Being a parent, I make sure that my child knows not to go slamming a door into someone else’s car, or being careful when...
Let’s start by saying I get read the riot act on a daily basis by my wife and daughter about cleaning my truck and keeping it pristine.
Ive leased vehicles for a long time, so if something happened like a small ding or scratch, I wasn’t as upset because I’d be getting rid of it in a year or...
I got the black ones and painted ‘em red. Install was easy. Hardest thing was breaking the existing bolt in the frame. Thing was in there so goddamn tight. But maybe less than an hour install tops.
Interesting, and I can’t see why the ‘22 is any different than the ‘21. I found that the first dealer I called said they would be able to do it. Then called back a week before the appt and said they double checked with the service manager and he said they couldn’t do it.
It took me 2 more...
I was surprised when I picked my truck up the other day from the detailed and I asked what he used and he said TurtleWax. He showed me this:
He said after the wash and decon, he sprayed 1-2 sprays per panel, wiped it on and then rinsed it off. Followed it up with some Koch Chemie SOo2. That...
So a small update….had the day off today and figured, let’s re-do the test. This time, I pumped the tires up to about 46psi because there was some thought in the back of my head, am I running too low a psi? This could have just been my mind playing tricks on me, but I felt like the front tires...
That’s a true point. The whole reason I think sometimes we have hobbies is to get away from the grind of a daily job or career. That’s why if I did get into this, it would be on a word of mouth, local level.
Awesome! Now I got something to listen to when I walk the dog. There‘s actually quite a few that come up when you search ‘rag company’ on apple podcasts (there are more not seen on this screenshot):
Ehhh, that might be cutting it a little close. I would say 2” minimum is the best bet for a larger size tire. But from what I have seen on here, OR2 on the air suspension might be the equivalent of a 2” lift? But you’d have to lock the air suspension in to that setting to not make it rub. Is...
Nice! I’m up in the northern valley area in Neffs/Schnecksville.
My truck will be at Dent and Detail Thursday. I’m pretty psyched for them to do the PDR work and they’re doing a maintenance wash on it as well. I’ll let you know how it goes!
Totally agree, and it’s something I try to explain to my wife on a daily basis. I do the same for my fleet of bikes, and it’s good practice to try new cleaning compounds or methods to perfect your craft.
One place I am going to Thursday to have a small dent/crease fixed is Dent & Detail off 100/29 in Emmaus/Macungie. I’ve been following them on Instagram and they do awesome, honest work. I met the guy who owns it too and he’s a cool breeze. They do detailing, ceramic coating and PDR.
Another...
I had a similar path, doing it part time for a Toyota dealership in my late teens, early 20’s. Coolest part was getting to drive the brand new cars into the bay to get them prepped.
I think that’s where my obsession with keeping a car pristine and clean Comes from. My wife rolls her eyes when...
I did look at that link before and if I input my stock to aftermarket tire it lists the new PSI at 36, which is the same as the stock tire. Although this looks like a great tool, I’d only believe it’s a starting point. I believe in the look and feel and tangible elements with visible results...
Thanks! I figured id give back some knowledge for the stuff I gleaned from this forum. Like Ron Burgundy says “it’s science”.
That other thread got out of hand and that guy wouldnt let up. But I can say experience is the best indicator and I’ve run 40 psi on multiple trucks and hadn’t one issue.
Let me start by saying in my confusion about which is the best tire pressure to run, I have this forum to thank for clueing me into the chalk test. I branched out and did some research, watched some YouTube videos and it seemed like the simplest test with such a big impact.
So I wanted to...
Interesting. I ran 40 psi in my previous Laramie on highway tires, despite the door placard and it rode nice and had no issues with wear. I did start at 38 with these but it’s hovering somewhere between 38-40. I’m hoping to get out this week in my development and do a thorough chalk test to...
