I noticed that after changing the cooling fan pwm table in hptuners, I can lower the requested temperature and this seems to affect when the fan comes on and the grill opens. even with a stock t-stat, I was able to lower my engine temps 10 degrees just with the setting.
this might be my favorite add on so far. I really like having the full view, stead of looking at my black bars in my back window and the rear seat headrests. much better visibility. Thanks @Jimmy07 for the custom BCM harness for my 2019 truck.
I just put mine in and used the clear silicone around the whole thing. I know it's a potential problem area and I use the automatic car wash a lot, and has been an issue in the past until I used the silicone. I know it's a hack, but what you gonna do.
weird, I just went out and tested, and I can plug and unplug my phone with the vehicle running, and the icon changes from Phone to CarPlay, but the CarPlay menu screen does not auto pop up and change inputs.
However, if my phone is plugged in when I start the vehicle, it will startup to the...
@Darksteel165 thanks for the info. thats kind of what I suspected. sometimes if I leave phone plugged in it doesn't switch over, but maybe just a fluke thing.
cool project. was talk about possible needing a UC5 module for the cluster & HUD modules, but maybe that's just if you want the turn-by-turn directions to display?
Does anyone have a wireless carplay adapter that does *NOT* cause the radio screen to switch over to CarPlay on every start? Ie. I want it to stay in the main radio/media screen and not change to carplay screen unless I click on it.
I tried a few, but they all switch to carplay screen after a...
I dont think it looks to skinny, I think its a good fit, but I dunno. to each his own I guess? whatever you have theres always some else with bigger tires. I think it a good size. depends what you're going for I guess?
I have them in 10 ply 275-65-20. they ride fantastic. super smooth and not harsh at all. however, they do make some highway noise. it's a constant hum/white noise. not horrible, but its always there. I have not gotten used to it yet. but I love the look, and they ride really nice.
for what's it worth mentioning, the PMW fan on these trucks is way more powerful than the older multi-speed units. But, it sounds like a damn jet engine when it's up and running. If I set the table to 195, truck will literally stay at 195 all day long. no creeping. factory was super hot...
I noticed, in hptuners you can adjust the fan pwm table. And instead of 215, you can have the actual fan come on earlier, and truck runs so much cooler now. Less knock!
you can basically swap wheels and the paddles will do same as buttons. you don't have to touch any bcm settings. its plug and play, direct swap. But yeah, its just the gear limit functions.
I have not gotten it to do actual autostick or sport shifting.. they basically do the same thing as the buttons now do.
I'm looking get my hands on a trx or gt truck that I can ride in for 10 minutes, and read some parameters in hptuners and see what shift maps are getting requested, etc...
