yeah you do have to expose those wires. Not too bad just got to be careful with the knife. That rounded cover is held on with a zip-tie that i cut off to get to the wires.
That connector looks like it's on the frame rail. If you lay on your back and look up toward the driver seat you should see the connector that's shown in the document. It's literally bolted down to sheet metal. It's possible they changed it in 2020 but i doubt it.
So i'm now fairly convinced that i've got everything right on the AlphaOBD side of things. I'm not sure what else i would need to enable/disable to get it working. i also double checked my wiring today and it's correct. I think the missing piece for LDW and ACC is the ABS module. I was reading...
I'm starting to suspect that lanesense requires a different steering column control module. In theory i have everything i need plugged in and enabled for it to work but it is still not working. I do occasionally get an error (U0212 I think) "lost communication with SCCM"
Thank you for uploading that to me. I did enable those two options earlier with no changes (other than warning messages).
At first glance one thing i notice is [Cruise Feature is Present: No] and [Cruise Control is present: No] are both opposite to what i have. Going to have to do some more...
Can someone that has a limited or rebel with adaptive cruise and lanesense send me their car configuration profile from alpha? I need to compare it to mine. It'd be a huge help. Thanks
So the lanesense still isn't working after the new screen was installed with the on/off button. What i need is someone with a limited to send me their car configuration profile from alpha obd so i can see what all exactly needs to be turned on/off.
In case anyone is actually following this thread, it looks like the HCU does have to be replaced alongside the new ABS module (at least for ACC). After about 2 hours of playing with alpha
that is what jimmy07 and I determined.
I am ordering this part and will attempt the install. Luckily the...
I'll try that tonight when i get off work. I haven't installed the ACC switch yet but i have a feeling since the ABS module doesn't support it that's why i'm getting errors. it's likely ill replace that. When replacing the module only and not the pump, does the system have the be re-bled...
So after playing with the DASM and alpha last night i managed to disable cruise control... i was enabling most of the ACC options and everything else that needs the DASM to see if anything would work. I was getting plenty of errors on the dash so i just went back through and removed everything i...
Does anyone know if the DASM also controls the auto hi beam option? I went through alpha and enabled every auto hi beam option i could find but didn’t have any luck with it
I'll try that before i start replacing modules. That's interesting though, how does the ABS bleed procedure work?
Do you have to bleed the system if you remove only the module, and not the HCU? That might be the next step if the above doesn't work, replace module only.
That's unfortunate.. That complicates the process a good bit. That adds an additional $250 to the cost of the project and a level of difficulty i might not want to attempt myself. Replacing the ABS pump and module requires disconnecting all the brake lines running to it and re-bleeding them once...
Do you know if the Hydraulic Control Unit would need to be changed out as well? It seems there are 2 part numbers for this. I couldn't find the part number on mine to verify which one i have. A part of me thinks one is for 1500 Classics and the other is for the new body style?
68415317AA vs...
So i ended up getting a DASM for relatively cheap, and after holding it in place close to where it would normally go, i think i'm going to attempt to mount it on my existing windshield just below the frit area so the camera will have a clear view. I still haven't picked up the ABS module. I do...
Yep that's it. They are cheap, maybe $20 each side. You could wire it yourself but it's really not worth the trouble. Just make sure you put the correct harness on each respective side. The plastic push pins that hold the harness to the body are bigger on one side than the other, you'll notice...
