How to: Add Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane assist, FCW & Auto Hi-beam to Ram 1500

I believe you can activate these separate of each other. When I was experimenting with Alpha on this project I tried enabling these separate. What happened is the menu on the dash would change from "ACC and Lanesense off" to "Lanesense off" or "ACC off" depending on what i had deactivated. I'd...

How to: Add Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane assist, FCW & Auto Hi-beam to Ram 1500

This might be accurate - i think one of the new standard safety features (maybe starting in 2021) is Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB). If that's the case it would require the DASM.

How to: Add Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane assist, FCW & Auto Hi-beam to Ram 1500

That would make sense. Probably the same system that stops the car with the reverse parking sensors is the same as the FCW. Either way, those are the cheapest components in the whole setup so you'll get a really nice upgrade for very little cost. Nice!

How to: Add Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane assist, FCW & Auto Hi-beam to Ram 1500

If that's the case you should be able to activate very easily... Interesting that they would activate the FCW from the factory but not the ACC or lanesense.

How to: Add Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane assist, FCW & Auto Hi-beam to Ram 1500

In the initial document I mentioned having a parking brake warning light on after the HCU and ABS module installation procedure. This can now be cleared with AlphaOBD by doing the following: ABS > Service Procedures > Assembly Check > START. The ABS will make a brief noise and EPB light should...

How to: Add Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane assist, FCW & Auto Hi-beam to Ram 1500

If your truck came factory equipped with FCW but not ACC, you need the following: (see attached file for additional information). HCU: 68415320AA ACC w/Stop and Go - $265.55 ABS Module: 68436462AJ Adaptive Cruise Control w/Stop and Go], [Adaptive Cruise Control w/Stop and Go] After 06/06/2018...

How to: Add Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane assist, FCW & Auto Hi-beam to Ram 1500

The following is to be used as a guide on how to install ACC, FCW, Lane Assist, Auto High Beam headlights and rain-sensitive wipers in your 5th Gen Ram 1500, also known as the Advanced Safety Group. I’ve also included a guide at the end of this document on how to install blind spot monitoring...

    Questions about adding LaneSense

After approximately 6-8 months, I have successfully installed and activated Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Sense, Forward Collision Warning, and Auto High Beams to my 2019 Lonestar. I got my truck back from the dealer this afternoon. They did a calibration procedure on my cruise control module...

    Questions about adding LaneSense

Join the comma discord. That’ll give us the best chance to get working. I’m till trying to get the stock ACC and LaneSense working, but you could be helpful in the development of the comma for RAM

    Adding Adaptive Cruise Control

The things you would need to add is the DASM, which requires a new windshield. The wiring of the DASM is easy and takes at most an hour. Outside of the DASM you need a new ABS module and Hydraulic control unit. The ABS module you have now cannot be configured for ACC. Replacing the HCU means...

    Adding Adaptive Cruise Control

So what you are looking at is the eye for the humidity/rain sensor. That is not the DASM. That being said your truck is likely missing the other hardware too (abs module and HCU). I suppose the factory just messed up and put the wrong steering wheel buttons on.

    Adding Adaptive Cruise Control

Here is what the rear view mirror setup should look like if you have the DASM (ignore the actual mirror itself). That plastic piece is rather large and it will pop off easily. If you have that type trim piece, you have the DASM. You can also look from the outside of the truck at this same area...

Is it possible to add Blind Spot?

So basically- if you don't have the mirrors yet or don't plan on getting them don't enable "mirrors present" as it will cause a code. Thanks for the tip!

    Adding Adaptive Cruise Control

I'm still trying to find a good time to take my truck to the dealer to take the radar out of plant mode. As far as i can tell everything is how it should be and a quick calibration will enable the feature. Unfortunately most of the dealers here are swamped with work because of their techs being...

    Adding OEM Front Camera?

It's never a bad idea to disconnect the battery before messing with wiring. I disconnected the battery for my installation.

    Adding OEM Front Camera?

I've used that camera. Not bad, not great... but its an analog camera so you can't expect too much. Your install looks factory. Very impressed. I'm curious to see how it works out with the angle and it being slightly offset from center.

    Adding Adaptive Cruise Control

I've always loved that feature on other vehicles. I'm not sure if we (as consumers) have the ability to add that feature in. It probably wouldn't be hard to do if the feature came as an option on the limited rams, but since it doesn't (that i know of), it would probably take some magic with the...
