    A/C Performance

Actually this is a GOOD sign when the stores are acknowledging the problem and even giving tacit approval with the wink and nod to folks using the AC hack valve for decent vent temps from the AC system. It could mean that FCA is finally going to announce a actual fix for this problem, which I...

    A/C Performance

Have you considered buying a Ram Classic like your old truck? They still make the old version you have and sell them brand new, and they still have great AC units, and all the bugs are worked out of them of course...DO NOT settle for that faulty New Ram AC, if the dealer will refund your money...

    Air conditioning Hack

Are you going to try the AC hack mentioned in another thread? You use a manual valve to shut off coolant flow to the heater core in the dash, which gets most folks around the low 40s F.

Door plate must be accurate by law, rely on that over the monroney label.

How about taking some vent temps with a thermometer? Thanks. See instructions in my previous post.

    A/C Performance

How about taking some vent temps? Thanks friend. Turn AC on, recirculate on, and use a medium fan speed. Use a digital thermometer with a corded sensor place into vent measure drivers side center vent and passengers side center vent. Then provide ambient temp and humidity. :)

AC - does anyone have a truck that blows ice cold?

I don't want to worry you but sometimes this can be the result of a slow refrigerant leak eventually it will stop cooling once the amount of refrigerant is below what needed to keep it filling the evaporator area.

The measurements are "good enough" for our purposes, you simply run the car with AC on for at least 20 minutes with recirculate on, and a medium blower speed put a thermometer preferably with a probe or corded sensor into the drivers side (center vent) measure, then into the passenger side...

Thanks for the link. I can't wait to dig in. Wow, that's a disgraceful display of arrogance from Ford too.

    Air conditioning performance

Wow very interesting story about the forum members actually creating a solution to that problem and Ford ignored it. My guess is that Ford will steal the work and use it without having to compensate those clever inventors. Happens all the time. Do you have a link to that situation? Thanks.

I look forward to hearing which parameter your car was placed in. Thanks friend!(y)(y)

AC - does anyone have a truck that blows ice cold?

That is a BOLD FACED LIE, and the shop knows it. There is NO discernible difference between the two refrigerants when the system they are in is functioning properly when it comes to vent temps.

    Air conditioning Hack

Maybe that's because some Audis from this period have a improperly set up HVAC module software coding is incorrect. There is actually a software coding for "hot country" or "cold country" if the setting in the BCM isn't set correctly for the ambient environment of the area it is being driven in...

Chrysler should be ashamed of themselves, especially since they essentially bragged about how much better their new model's HVAC would be over the older model (now called the Classic RAM)

    A/C Performance

Indeed and the fact hat Chrysler/RAM isn't willing to be forthcoming about this huge issue is really telling about the integrity of the company. They've lost a lot of potential customers because the consumers ARE reading these posts.

    Air conditioning performance

Sorry to say I'm just another owner, trying to help pin down the source of the problem with the AC units. The more folks that have at least minimal tangible data in the form of temp measurements might help.

    Air conditioning performance

Hello friend could you measure the vent temps for us? Run car for at least 15 minutes with AC on, in recirculate mode, on a medium blower fan setting. Thanks We're trying to get some at least rough scientific data together.

    Air conditioning performance

The two specs are within 2 ounces of each other. It is UNLIKELY that an additional two ounces would cause the system to damage the compressor. There are fail safes to prevent excessive pressures. Two specs, one for 510 the other for 567 (grams) the difference of 57 grams is about 2 ounces.

    Air conditioning performance

Can you measure your vent temps? For reference turn the truck on and run for 15 minutes , A/C on recirculate, fan on middle settings, truck running at idle, and post ambient temps, and humidity. Thanks friend.

“Automated” A/C hack - my version

This is very likely correct assumption. Chrysler isn't the only car company that subscribes to this way of doing things either. Probably SOP at most main line manufacturers.
