Does it scratch easily? I'm looking for a solution for offroading in the woods purpose. Buffing the clear coat is easy, but I'm not sure that removing scratches from PPF can be done with same ease.
You don't need so much air with that TRX vent scoop. Even stock Rebel hood has fake vents. I'd say that nobody will see the difference except you if you swap the hood. Tuning with no purpose other then activity.
Does anyone know if it is possible to disable dome light time out via Alfa OBD? It turns off after 5 minutes if engine is not running, and I'm looking for options to make it work longer, at least 30 minutes. Dome light shouldn't discharge the battery quickly.
Man, this project deserves its own thread! :) 90%+ of people in this forum never even heard about Comma and will be surprised that their truck can actually drive itself. Main stopper for me is that my truck doesn't have ACC, and installing it is pricey and not easy.
I need more details of this! :)
I enjoy having full self driving in my Tesla, and I really with to have something comparable in RAM.
How much have you spent in $ and hours on making it happen?
The trick that I'm using is checking what's available at local used tire shops. They usually have a lot of barely used all-terrain tires that people dispose off after installing 33' or 35' tires on their new rigs.
On my previous truck I've got Toyo Open Country in almost new condition for $200...
"What is the point in using Rhino Ramps if you need to lift the wheels to do tire rotation anyway?"
A minute later: Oh, year, I forgot that when you decompress the suspension on 5.7 engine, stabilizer bar is in front of the drain plug and it creates a lot of mess when you drain oil.
I've convinced my wife that we definitely need a truck in a family by accidently rising my hand on a public car auction and buying this 2012 Nissan Frontier for ~$7K. Great mechanical conditions, but super dirty inside and all scratched outside (yes, public use trucks take a beating, but at...
From my experience, I have +1 MPG with Costco 91 comparing to 89 at Safeway or Arco. Since price is the same, Costco 91 is a no brainer.
When using any 87, I can hear a tick (not loud, but noticeable) when engine switches to 4 cylinder mode ("eco"), but it quickly disappears after filling the...
Congrats! :)
I personally wouldn't recommend to put Line-X if you plan to use your bed for hard work. Pendaliner is 2-3 times cheaper and really indestructible.
It means that you have a transfer case similar to Laramie/Limited. That wasn't an option until 2021 for Rebel and they all came with heavy-duty transfer cases without 4x4 auto. I don't want to say that 4x4 auto transfer case is bad, but it is just way more complex than a basic transfer case in...
I don't know if Laramie's bumpers are steel or plastic, but they come either chrome coated or painted (black or body color). Either way they scratch pretty easily, like any other bumper of a regular car. Try to scratch Rebel's bumper and you will see what I'm talking about ;)
Regarding value of...
The concept of "trust dealer to do it right" is actually opposite why people prefer to change oil themselves ;) I believe that I will do oil change, visual inspection and tire rotation way better then some technician at Dodge dealership with basic training. In my case, I tried several local...
And for those who think "but Laramie is better in the city":
1. You can't have curb rush on Rebel rims. Rubber sticks like half an inch. You scratch the tire, not the rim.
2. Duratracs are pretty quiet on the highway.
3. Steel bumpers, again! If somebody bumps you on a street parking - the...
Why I chose Rebel over Laramie with Off-road package:
1. Steel bumpers and bash plate. That's a huge deal for off-roading, plus no problems if you scratch the bumper - it is fixed with a sand paper.
2. Stronger transfer case (mine doesn't have 4x4 Auto option)
3. Bilstein suspension is so good...
