Now that I've had some time with the new head unit in my truck, I've noticed that some sound related issues have been resolved. With the old unit, phone calls came through way too loud and distorted sounding. I had to turn the volume down to 9 or 10. Now it's crystal clear and can leave it on...
Interesting... I'm thinking this is a software issue. It's definitely not burn-in like I think my dealer thinks it is. The images aren't permanent. That's why I don't think a new screen is going to solve my particular issue.
They replaced the head unit/brain portion of the center stack today and it did not fix the ghosting issue. They have ordered a new screen now to see if that fixes it. I really don't see how a new screen will fix it since it is not burned in images that are permanently on the screen. They...
Yes, I am pleased with it. Like I said, previous owner did it and I didn't even know until yesterday that it had an aftermarket muffler.
Yes, when MDS kicks in it does drone. When MDS turns off and the other 4 cylinders wake up, it makes a brrrp sound. I don't like the way MDS drones like...
I think it sounds pretty good too for just a $120 or so muffler. It's just how I like it... a good throaty growl when I want it to and no drone on the highway.
I have a friend with a Bendpak lift and a Lincoln welding machine in his shop. He offered to fix it for me.
If the resonators are what's right before the exhaust tips, then they are still on there. It's louder than my next door neighbors stock exhaust on his '21 Limited, but it's not going to wake him up when I crank it.
Now that I think about it... I hope it's not waking him up when I crank it ;)
Thanks for showing me what to look for. I walked out to my truck a little while ago and peeked underneath. This is what I found. It's a Magnaflow of some kind. Now that we've discovered it's aftermarket... does anyone see any problems with the workmanship?
I am the second owner, so I don't know if the previous guy had work done on it. I've looked underneath the truck and it looks stock, but I may not be looking in the right places.
I have the OEM Bridgestones too, with only 36k miles, and they are not very confidence-inspring in the wet. I wish Michelin made the "LT" Defenders in the stock 275/55-20 size. I don't want to go up a size. Looking for a good towing tire, because the Bridgestones are way too soft when towing.
According to this link below, both payload and towing are reduced by 80lbs.

Wow, that's awesome! It looks like a 4-5 month time-frame from when people place their order to when it's delivered to the dealer. I am going to place my order in Feb, because I'm looking at purchasing next summer.
Yup, I had dark tint on my rear window and the auto-dim function rarely came on. The dimming function on the exterior mirrors must be tied to that same sensor, because they rarely dimmed too. My rear window was replaced due to the cracked and leaking rear window surround issue. I have not...
I feel the same way about MDS, so I defeat it with the "gear limit" buttons every time I start driving. Sometimes I forget to do it after a three-point turn or something and the 4-cylinder drone starts, I hit the button and defeat it again.
You are probably talking about defeating it permanently.
Yeah, it took me some time for sure. I like how it behaves now, because I'm used to it. I can even make the engine stay on sometimes by having a very light foot on the brake pedal. I can also make the engine shut off by pressing harder on the pedal. It's interesting to me.
