Anyone getting a 2025 with the I6 Hurricane?

For me to get that mpg, I'd need wind at my back and 50 psi inches tires lol

Anyone getting a 2025 with the I6 Hurricane?

I agree with that's a good way to compare a to b but like you said, you have to drive slow and accelerate slowly to get published highway mpg. My dad probably could accomplish the ratings. I'm not a speed demon but I've only got published highway numbers a couple times and that was with my...

Anyone getting a 2025 with the I6 Hurricane?

Take a look at the procedure the the epa uses to get those numbers. Their highway test isn't how we think it should be. It's really so far off reality, it's ridiculous.

I'm not bothered by intelligent analogies.

Anyone getting a 2025 with the I6 Hurricane?

At least the did all 3 trucks at the same time. Because temp and wind make huge difference in mpg

Anyone getting a 2025 with the I6 Hurricane?

I really like tfl truck but how they check gas mileage is not the most accurate. The epa does not check mileage this way. If the ram fuel tank allowed and extra .5 gallons and the Ford was short a half a gallon, that's almost a 4 mpg swing. I more accurate way would be a longer loop and weigh...

Hurricane cold start high idle and operating temp questions

I'm guess the engineers want the engine temps and catalytic converter temp up quickly to reduce emissions. Maybee?

What I think Stellantis should have done with Hurricane engine.

It's a 3.0 mostly because they want to use it in Europe. In some of those countries, an engine over 3.0 is heavily taxed.

What I think Stellantis should have done with Hurricane engine.

That would have been good. Even a 3.0 no turbo for the base engine would have satisfied most. It could have been good for 285 hp. They could have consolidated parts even more. Bye bye to the old pentastar. Lol

    A new engine thread

My 2014 Jeep gc 3.6 has 270,000 miles on it. The cam and lifters were replaced under the lifetime warranty. Original transmission too. The transmission has had a little jerk into 3rd for the last 20,000. We'll drive it till it's worth less than the repair.

Talk about throwing a fit. All over 2 cylinders.

Anyone getting a 2025 with the I6 Hurricane?

Stellantis had to make a change and the Hurricane made sense to their overall platform of vehicles. They knew there would be a few people unhappy and and maybe a few of that small percentage would buy elsewhere. They also knew bringing a 540 hp truck to the market would bring people to ram. It...

Anyone getting a 2025 with the I6 Hurricane?

T I have a vw 2.0T with di and I've had to clean the valves twice (165,000 miles). I use the recommended synthetic oil too.

    A new engine thread

Why is it so difficult to build a reliable engine? They engineer and test them to every extreme. Is it poor engineering, insufficient testing, poor manufacturing control or the bean counters? It's most likely all of the above. Next, if a company knows of an issue, why don't the fix it? Examples...

Anyone getting a 2025 with the I6 Hurricane?

Just my opion. Sorry, no difference refers to needing the proper engineering to handle the desired output and longevity. Using the Cummins as an example, 25 years ago it had 160 hp and now, 420. That's with only a 15%ish increase in displacement. Technology improve every year To get us...
