Just had the recall done.
My gas pedal feels very loose (left/right side to side there is some travel). I should have checked BEFORE the recall to see if this is a result of the work done. Is this normal?
Can folks who have, or have not had, the recall done check if you gas pedal has some...
I also wanted 3.92's originally, as I tow 3-5k frequently and 5-8k occasionally.
I came from a Ford f150 5.0 6pd with 3.55's that I was happy with the towing performance. 3.21's on the Ram seemed like a dealbreaker until I did the homework on the final drive ratio with the 3.21's and the ZF 8...
Roadtrip up and down I-95. Very happy with the highway MPG performance, which included numerous traffic jams, and about 25 miles city driving mixed in.
4x4, crew cab, 3.21, non-etorque
Engine purrs along very happy in 8th gear. 87 Octane fuel to boot.
EDIT: for folks on mobile or who can't...
This ZF transmission is so good. I came from an f150 and I loved the 5.0 for sure, but this trans is so nice on the highway compared to the Ford 6 speed I came from. Better passing power with downshifts and better MPG when cruising.
Looking forward to trying out a tow trip next month to...
Was the oil level adequate? What mileage? You should also get a loaner that is unacceptable.
Sorry to hear this. These are tried and true engines of an older design - failures should be rare.
I've had both. The Locker is a must for heavy/hardcore off roading, rock crawling. The LSD is better in some on road emergency situations, and can also offer an advantage in some off road situations at higher speeds (beach, dirt roads, mud, possible some snow situations, where your tires need to...
Mine has it too since new. This is my first Hemi. Pretty sure this is standard due to the cast iron block. There is going to be surface rust. It is alarming to see though if you've come from aluminum block engines like many of us have.
I highly recommend folks configure their gauge cluster to display instant readout of MPG (not avg). It's a great way to see how much fuel you're burning in a given scenario. I've been observing consumption via this method for over 1000 miles and have noted the following:
1) Folks who use remote...
You didn't have to take anything out/take apart the dash? I gave it a shot and holy hell it's tough to reach back there. The opening is about 8 inches below the switch at a angle, and there's a bunch of other cables, modules in the way it feels.
Couldn't reach it. Any tips other then...
Yep. Mine has done this twice (I'm at 2k miles). It's really the only flaw I've found so far on this truck.
Both times I did not use Remote Start (not sure if that matters). Power cycling fully, including lock unlock, did not resolve. It started working the next day. I imagine if I really need...
