    4wd not selectable.

Yeah this happened to me 4 or 5 times. Another user figured out some of the cables that plug into the back of the switch controller could be a bit loose. You have to finagle your hand quite a bit to get back there, but I was able to reach back and push the cables in some. Haven't seen it...

Rebel squats with only 350 pound tongue weight?

The Rebel is purpose built for off-roading - and with the upgraded (softer) suspension for that purpose, you might see some additional squat vs a regular Ram 1500. Even the vaunted HD 2500 Powerwagon suffers for towing compared to other 2500 HD's. I was at the dealership for a recall and...

Forward collision sensors malfunction on overhead metal structures/overpasses.

Can you disable the autobraking and just let the sensor warn you? That way the false alarm won't get you rear ended. I was just watching video of someone testing Tesla Autopilot (which is arguably the best sensor system, even though they've had some fatalities with it) and it too was confused...

6000 miles (just shy of) with around 2500 towing. Still love the truck , some issues might be developing.

You wish you had 22's or currently have them and wish you didn't? I'm super happy with my 18's. I love lots of rubber and sidewall with plain rims. Rugged. My older truck had a locker, my Ram has a LSD. I like them both - can't decide which I like more.

    Love the 33 Gallon Tank!

I didn't grab a picture but after a recent trip where I a 24 mpg average, I filled up the tank and got a range of 574 miles to empty with the 26 gallon tank. If I had a 33 gal tank, the range would have been roughly 744!!!

    2019 Rear Gear Ratio swap

 It's fantastic actually. Thanks to the 8 speed, the lowly Ram 3.21 has a final drive ratio equal or better than a 2019 Toyota Tundra with the 4.30 rear end. I recently towed a 29 ft travel trailer with no complaints. [1100 lbs tongue weight, 7-8k wet weight]. When not towing, I spend a...

    What Fuel is everyone using?

Words mean something - this is about recommended vs required. Recommended means 89 will give max performance (max HP and Torque). Running 87 the timing will adjust slightly and the engine will run just fine, but with slightly less power. Required means the engine will knock significantly and...

    Air conditioning performance

Thanks! Great feedback. Do you work at a dealer or independent shop? Are you still working on this truck? Did topping off refrigerant solve the issue?

    Heavy Load LOUD banging sound

sorry to hear this. Do you have air suspension or coil? There have been a couple folks who have air suspension fail and it is loud when it does.

    Air conditioning performance

Thanks GM Convert - Based on your work order, we need to call your dealer and get that tech David Radtke onto this thread as he may have solved the defect in the system that allows in heat.

    Air conditioning performance

We all have to go in at some point for the various recalls. Might as well let the dealer document and take a shot at fixing. One user a few pages back ("GM Guy" I believe is his name), took his truck in for the AC and the dealer did seem to resolve a heat leak in his system with a valve/o ring...

    Scratched up tailgate

What a great post and FYI. Scratches are inevitable but I hate causing them myself. Really appreciate you sharing this. I was just shopping for license plate frames.

    3.21. vs 3.92 gear

Right on sir! I'm not in my 20's - this truck is not my fun vehicle - it's a means to an end. I have other toys this thing pulls if I want the thrills. However it's a good point that for some folks this is their fun vehicle and they want to do burnouts and tunes and mods and such, and 3.92 is...

    3.21. vs 3.92 gear

I originally wanted a 3.92 as well until I did the homework on the transmission (the effect of the 8 gears vs. 6 speeds that were most common just a few years ago). You can checkout post 165 for details. The upshot however is that the Ram 3.21 w/8 speed provides equal or better final drive...

    Air conditioning performance

Thanks for posting but that is an older TSB about a software reflash to the HVAC programming. That came out in Feb 2019. You were mentioning actual o-ring/seal replacement work that was done, which is not covered in TSB 24-001-19. It's the o-ring/seal work that is new and of interest.

If you can post a screenshot of that bulletin and the work done when completed (assuming you notice an improvement), that would be helpful! Thanks!

    G5 rebel towing vs g5 1500 trims

Payload will likely limit you before the axle rating/tow rating. Someone can correct me if wrong, but Rebels I believe have lower payload due to off-road gear. Traditionally you lose Payload as you go up in trim level (due to added options), so Tradesmen is the best, then Bighorn, then...

    First camping trip: Success

Very nice trailer. I recently towed a 2019 Alpha Wolf triple bunkhouse floorplan and the hitch weight on that one was almost 1000 lbs despite being slightly lighter overall weight. This one looks like a really nice setup.

    Air conditioning performance

Hi GM Convert - any update on this? On a whim, I researched Driver Passenger AC problems (dramatic temp differences generically rather than Ram Specific). Turns out Subaru's in 2015 were having this problem and wouldn't you know it, a leaky O-Ring was determined as the cause (leaking heat into...

    Big horn LED package

I agree it's dimmer but I don't mind the look compared to every other car out there with super bright white. When you need the DLR the most (at dawn or dusk before your regular lights kick in), it's very noticeable.
