Really personal preference. That info is correct though. 1.5" will definitely poke those outside your fender well. Assuming that's what you are looking for ?
I love the interior on the Tungsten. World class IMO. Sound is most definitely subjective. I haven't heard an OE system yet I liked. I'll be curious to check out the sound in this one. Tweeters finally ended up in the A pillars where they belong. :)
Got the wheels and drop installed. I was planning on going ridetech but had all my maxtrac parts laying around that I never used on my last truck. I really waffled back and forth on drop and ended up doing 1.5 front and 2" in rear knowing the etorque would sit lower. I wish I would have gone 2...
Testing lighting. Matches whatever the theme in the truck is. Only quibble at this point is I hope the crease in the fabric relaxes. Need to finish wiring and mounting amp/dsp and on to tuning.
Happy with how this turned out despite the work.
That issue has been around for quite a few years. I had a 13 that was really bad. We replaced TPS which seemed to help, but never totally alleviated it. I've had a few friends who also had similar issues. My 13 was bad enough you had to really feather the throttle on initial take off or it would...
Working on finishing up the beauty panel. Ordered some black vinyl for the top layer. The back layer has LED strips inset that match the ones in the doors. I dropped and broke off the corner of the sub panel, which required a bit more work repairing, FML. Also had to bondo some areas where I was...
Both. The 2500's have had a tweeter in that location for a while, and the new Ram Tungsten will be the first 1/2 ton to have one in that location. Most other vehicles, Jeep/etc. have been utilizing that location for years. All of my Rams have had the tweeters installed in that location when I've...
I don't know if I'm digging the overall look. I'm most likely going to make a surround that follows the a pillar cover. I was trying to get these to tie in with the factory mid speaker housing design but not so sure. Part of it may be the material. My SRT pillars were completely wrapped and it...
Theoretically that is correct; in practical application, not so much.
As mentioned, at the end of the day, ohm loads vary so it's really a crap shoot when mixing and matching with OEM speakers.
Spent some more time trying to track down noise. Sunroof is a culprit. When closing the shade, it makes a noticeable difference. I am going to attack the front wheel wells next, and see if that helps further reduce noise.
I was originally going to do some window and lighting on the front of the...
I think you meant, the speaker wire would result in a 2 ohm load? Ohms don't raise with resistance. That's kind of a B.S. sales pitch regardless. That being said; speakers ohm loads do vary based on frequency being played. A/M speakers are most likely more sensitive than OEM, so it probably...
The problem with mixing different speakers of different ohm ratings is there is no way to level match. This will really skew an already terrible soundstage. A 4ohm speaker will draw roughly half the wattage of a 2 ohm speaker. That's significant. Now if the speaker going in is considerably more...
Well, after three months I decided it was time to at least drive the Ram, as my SRT is no more. I think I want to cry a bit though; all the work put into sound deadening and I swear it's as noisy, if not more so, than before. I can't really explain it either. Around 35 mph and above, it's almost...
Moving towards completion. Unfortunately my layout with my Audisons is not going to work. They are just too tall to sit on the top as I had intended. They will both mount in the storage cubby with enough airflow, but I really wanted to display them under the seat, so it looks like I'm going to...
I ran those in my spare tire well in my SRT with no issues. The 5.1k in a 2 way gets really hot. The 5.1k running mids/tweets with the due running midbass; not so much.
Well I made a lot more work for myself, as this sub/amp cab is kicking my butt. I got most of it glued together and test fit in truck, only to find I hated the stupid 90 degree corners. I made the box a little deeper than I would have liked, which caused the corners to be more apparent in...
