I got the Coverking https://www.carcoverusa.com/coverking-custom-windshield-sunshields.php It's like a Mylar foam for $45. It's holding up good, easy to take on and off.
Where did you hide the AmpPro. From the picture it looks like there is a pretty short wire harness that goes in-line with the stock wiring. Doesn't look like it can go to far from behind the screen, so I'm hoping there are some voids when I get around to doing mine.
I installed the "CL-69SUB/CF.2 - CDT Audio 6X9" 2 ohm Mid / Subwoofer" speakers without any real issues (in the rear doors only). I ran down to Harbor freight to get some metal Auto Trim tools, as the plastic ones weren't strong enough. I'd recommend start from the bottom, prying so you can...
What's the trick to getting the door panels off the door frame? I got the 3 screws out, but those clips seem pretty tight. The plastic stuff I got off of Amazon flex way too much. Since I can't find my metal trim removal tool, probably head down to Auto Zone or Harbor Freight and see if they...
I ordered a pair of the CDT CL-69SUB/CF.2's. Will probably stick them in the rear, and if all goes smooth, order a second pair for the front. Crutchfield indicates a Metra 71-050 adapter is needed. After looking for them on e-bay, etc., I found another forum saying the Metra 72-6514 is the...
I just changed all 3 in my Alpine system. Not sure what the difference would be changing all 3 as opposed to just 2. I have the Alpine system and the stock speakers weren't bad in my opinion, but the JL Audio C2's were better. If you buy a 2nd set of whatever you have, just sell the single.
I was happy with the Z-Edge also when I had a Nissan Frontier, but I really need to find a good mirror mount because the windshield get's way too hot in Las Vegas. There isn't a lot of space to install a mount on the rear view mirror arm, That sensor box is pretty close to the mirror housing.
I just ordered 2 sets of JL Audios for the front. I would have left my Alpine system alone because I think it sounds great, but everyone seemed to rave about swapping the front speakers. It would be nice for a couple people in the same town be able to compare the differences. Did you try...
I was hoping for something along the same lines with people who actually installed speakers and confirmed they made a difference. Like specific speakers for each spot, if the speaker needs any specific adapter cable, to include any needed speaker ohm adjustments. Last truck I did was nearly 10...
Window film doesn't have to be all about the darkness. The biggest benefit of film versus factory darkened glass is UV and heat rejection. The factory glass is basically for privacy / look, and does not provide the same benefits as film. Tinting the front windshield with nearly clear film is...
My 4th Gen and 5th Gen came with a spray on bed liner. On my 4th gen, I just had the bedrug that did not go around the sides. Prepping the spray in liner so the velcro stuck to it was kind of pain, and something i don't want to do again. I would have preferred the 5th not have come with the...
I ordered the 5" option and that was the correct version. Not really a fan of the covercraft sunshade I got. I got the expensive one that was like $85. It folds up easily, but getting it to sit in the window can be a little work. Then, it still leaves some gaps up by the mirror. Using one...
I did one with a die, but the handles on it were too long to spin in a complete 360 on the others (For the back mount point). Good thing too because I grabbed a 8mm die with the wrong pitch. The nut with inner nylon wasn't going on correctly, so I found another 8mm lock nut in my garage that...
