The real moral of this story: never take your vehicle to a shop that your insurance recommends. Always pick your own, That way, the shop is on your side, not the insurance's.
The thing that most concerns me is the Direct Injection. Plenty of history on how that will result in carbon buildup on your valves which are no longer 'cleaned' by fuel. Most tips on how to prevent the carbon buildup involve much more regular maintenance than you'd do on a hemi (or current V-6)
I have had the same issue in the past. Rebooting phone and restarting truck worked to fix it. Later I found that plugging my usb cable into a different port (on back of the console for instance) would also make phone connect again.
If I were buying now, I'd get the 'Pro' version of the F-150 Lightning - $41K is a smoking deal for an all-electric full-size pickup (compared to other electric vehicles). And that's before a possible $7500 fedral credit.
I try to keep it simple/universal. In my current trucks I use the Bayou Goat Mount - it gives me a convenient platform to put my suction cup mount on, and the power is right next to it, very convenient: Bayou Goat Mount
I'm not a beer nerd, but I know what I like.
What I like: almost any german beer, since no preservatives = no hangover
Can't go wrong with Franziskaner, Paulaner, HofBrau etc. The greatest thing for me about traveling around Germany is that almost every town has its own beer, and they're all...
There's a website where you can enter original (OEM) tire size and the new one, and it will tell you what pressure to run it at. I posted link a few times already:
clicketyclick
I follow the dash indicator, which works out to 10,000 miles. So I trust, but also verify occasionally by sending a sample to Blackstone. They always come back with a passing score. The last one I did for the 2020 even stated that I could go 12,000 miles between changes based on their...
The 2500 does look great, I agree. But being stuck with some of the 4th gen features would suck for me - I really like the telescoping steering wheel since I'm 6'4" and sit far back and my arms are just not long enough :-p
First: I love my black 2020 Limited truck. It's as comfortable as a luxury car and has all the bells and whistles I could ask for. Everything works, and most of it works well. Many things in 5th gen truck make the drive more comfortable, such as telescoping steering wheel and the roomier...
There is a website where you can enter your data and it will give you the pressure to set tires to. I used it when I went to 305/45 22 on my Limited. One moment....
Found it: Tire Pressure Calculator
I have always followed the oil change counter on both our 2014 (190,000) and 2020 (80,000), which with our driving styles is always 10,000 miles. Every now and then I send in a sample to Blackstone and they always come back with a recommendation that I could go longer if I wanted :)
I stick...
Interesting. I drive a Limited with 22" wheels, and am looking to switch to 20" or even 18" for better comfort and wider selection of tires.
I also wish I had gotten the 6'4" bed, since the shorter bed won't really hold my motorcycle very well. It also looks better IMO, especially if you lift...
If you would rather have it totaled: ask for a rental car for the duration of the repair. The costs of the rental car is included in the decision whether to total or not, and with a repair like this it will add up and likely total the truck.
on our 4th gen the bolts were replaced at 100,000 miles, and it's at 190,000 now and no problems. 5th gen had them replaced at 30,000 and it's now at 80,000 without problems. So looks like replacement is for the long haul.
BTW, this should be covered under drive train warranty.
