I'm happy with mine, besides the fitment issue on my exhaust flange...may just say screw it and get it welded but it's not really hurting anything. I like everything else about it, especially the tips and the adjustability on them. It's about the same price as all other high end systems. I...
I take back all I said, It started lifting up in those spots so I pulled it off and it's going back to Amazon. I may just settle on the MOPAR deflector.
I don't notice any difference with either MPGs or performance. I also do mostly city driving so my MPGs are crap anyway. In Connecticut there is a significant difference in price between 87 and 89 and I only get 89 when I have gas points from stores to drop the price.
I did use my OEM gasket, 10k miles on it. Still in good condition. I checked a few times for it seating properly. I took a square to the exhaust flange and it does bow out a hair. Just enough to not seal.
My next vehicle will definitely be electric. Whether a replacement truck or keep my truck and get a car. Luckily I don't live in California so I think I have some time to make these decisions instead of being forced to go electric (like lawnmowers and small engines)
Just a quick few week follow up: This system sounds awesome when you step on it. It's actually pretty quiet under normal driving conditions and when warmed up. Nowhere near as loud as the Borla Atak I had. I don't have any annoying resonance whatsoever and no odd vibrations someone had in...
Yesterday, I installed the AVS Aeroskin on my Laramie with the performance hood. The site/amazon claims it didn't fit the rebel models (sport hood) but it seemed to fit just fine. I just used a heat gun to mold the angles a little bit. I had the weathertech deflector but it chewed up the top...
I had my LED/Camera third brake light replaced because it was leaking. I took it out and it definitely was coming from that spot. Dealership replaced it under warranty and I asked if anything changed to prevent this from happening and the tech overheard me and said the gasket was...
The noise while cruising was just the sound of the exhaust. But to me it was just annoying at the volume it was at. I'm not saying it was loud and yes the radio did drown it out a bit but it was just too much for me. Exhaust is very subjective and even though a lot of people loved the borla...
I'm sure this is "needed" for most systems but coming from different trucks and different systems, the AWE produces zero annoying resonant frequency/noise.
If I were you I'd take the refund and get the AWE. There is so much adjustability with it that it tops any other exhaust and the tips are much higher quality than the borla's. Like I said you really only hear it when you stomp on it. I'm actually surprised how quiet it is otherwise since it...
This is all compared to the Borla ATAK I had:
The AWE is so much quieter in the cabin at all RPMs. The only time you really hear it in the cabin is accelerating from a stop or stomping on it on the highway. Cold starts are loud but still slightly quieter than Borla but calms down after about...
