You are 100% correct.
I canceled the cruise.
Had I not it would have accelerated to the cruise speed set above the cruise icon, therefore, risking a nice speeding ticket :)
I tested in both regular cruise and adaptive cruise and confirmed both modes of cruise do accelerate in 5mph increments and 3 seconds will give you a 25 mph increase. Here is a YouTube clip I did to show the behavior. Test yours and let us know if you have the same results.
The manual IS NOT...
I just towed my 26' trailer in my sig that weighs just about what yours does with my 2021 limited with air suspension and it was flawless. I towed this last year with my 2019 Laramie without air but traded to the limited for the 33-gallon tank and 3.92 gears mainly but will say the air...
If everyone read the book we wouldn't need the forum :)
I confirmed both cruise modes 5mph increments when holding down the button to increase speed.
Also, when holding down the button to decrease speed it appears to apply the brakes. My 2016 big horn did not do this and this behavior is not...
According to the manual, the +5 MPH adjustment is only using ACC (Adaptive Cruise Control). The manual states for the non-adaptive cruise it will just accelerate to the desired speed. It also says if in ACC mode setting the cruise at speeds below 20MPH results in the cruise defaulting to 20MPH...
Yeah but the insides of the Chevy trucks are so Old looking compared to our Rams. Boss just got a new top-of-the-line Chevy High Country. Nice looking outside and the power down and up tailgate is sweet but the dash is just out of date looking compared to the 12" screen in the limited. And that...
At first, the Etourqe took a bit getting used to and it was odd to have the truck shut off. A couple of times my heart went into my throat as I was thinking "Oh great! What's wrong with the truck!" when it shut off on me. Now when I drive my girlfriend's car and it doesn't shut off I feel like...
Very true. I would like to see know how long the OP was actually able to drive the truck with falling oil pressure until it seized up. That engine in the video running at redline ran for a full minute as the oil pressure dropped. Perhaps the OP at 2000 rpm's at 70 MPH drove for 10 minutes with...
Hmmm. I think some form of fire may be possible. Especially since the OP mentioned copious amounts of smoke. Though the engine has coolant the exhaust does not. This engine ran quite some time at high RPM before failing so very possible the OP drove a bit before the engine seized up.
Yeah, those 3.21 gears rock the mileage. I had a 2016 Big Horn and a 2019 Laramie with the 3.21's and hit 22 frequently. My current 2021 with the 3.92 gears isn't going to see that! I did hit 20.5 on it though on a recent trip on the 55 and 60 mph stretches of highway.
That sounds right on the money when towing. I suspect your low mileage when not towing, and for others who report the same thing, is driving style. It is very easy to get 13-15 mpg in these trucks but it takes patience and a very conservative driving style to get 18-20. With the 3.92 gears...
So I was just wondering if there are any engineers out there that might know how wind drag factors into the effective trailer weight. We all know that towing say a flatbed trailer with a car on it is much different than towing a camper that is 10' high with a large surface area. I know there are...
I am not familiar with those or have seen many at the campgrounds. I tow a 26' that weighs just under 5000 lbs and the dealer gave me a WDH but not sway control and the camper was all over the road. Wore me out towing it just 2 hours. I bought this hitch here:

LOL I sure remember that also. Of course, that was in the days when Dodges and most other cars had rust on them right on the dealer lots! The 80's were a bad decade for American automobiles. We really turned out some junk in those days.
I have had 3 rams, 2 without air and my current one is the 2021 limited with air suspension. They all rode fantastic and I think the air suspension has a slightly smoother ride but they all rode very well. I thought about going back to a car and getting an older pickup but any car I drove wasn't...
I will just throw this out there from my experience towing cross country last year. Make sure the truck has the 33-gallon tank. At the time I had the 26-gallon tank and it was miserable even on trips 2 hours away. 250 miles of range so your hunting for a gas station every 150 miles. I have even...
