I agree. Once it happens to you however I can see how you would be wary of sunroofs. I am sure it is a pretty scary thing when it happens.
One can't rule out that a portion of these are from damaged panes. A rock could hit it and you wouldn't know and it causes a pinhole damage that later gives...
Thanks for all the info.!
So, if I purchase the Comma dev kit from Comma.ai, and then the harness and the mount from you is that all I need? Is it just plug-and-play with nothing else to purchase? Just install in the truck as per instructions, load stable software and it's done?
I am ready to pull the trigger on this. I am a bit confused on this though. All I see is a Dev ket for Comma available to order. I don't see an option that isn't the dev kit. I also see someone else mentioned the cable is actually not available for our Rams yet so do I need to order that from...
Congrats! You are going to love the Ecodiesel ! If you tow wait until you tow with it then you will really love it!
Adaptive cruise on these is wonderful but it does seem a bit harsh and I didn't notice it until I drove a Ford mustang with it. I wish the Ram adaptive worked as smoothly as the...
27+ MPG is easily doable with the 3.21 gears in the Eco Diesel. I have hit as high as 31.8 MPG on a 500 Mile round trip averaging 60 mph. It's amazing the mileage these can get.
As for the driving experience, I much prefer it over the Hemi. As I have gotten older I am less rowdy and the Eco...
3.92's won't make any difference at HGWY speeds. They help to get a heavier load going but at hgwy speeds zip nada no difference. I had both and towed the same trailer and no difference.
Traded for the Ecodiesel and it's a much more relaxing tow vehicle. The Hemi wants to rev and scream and...
Well, you really need them both. TRX for when you are feeling rowdy and the Ecodiesel for when you are feeling like relaxing on the couch.
I initially was going to get a TRX but after driving one it reminded me of all my rowdy friends who haven't settled down...a bit much to hang around with...
The trailer is not particularly heavy but the tongue weight will take a heavy toll on the payload. However this statement from the op is concerning:
Indicates a serious issue that is extremely dangerous. He needs to rectify it before towing that camper one foot further. It doesn't matter if he...
Yes, that's a 30' camper with 782lbs of tongue weight.
Go here and put in your vehicle VIN to get your towing capacity:
https://www.ramtrucks.com/towing/towing-guide.html#/landing/bytowing
Subtract at least 782 from that and that shows how much weight you can have on the truck including gear...
I agree with this. That's much longer than 26'.
You said you had a sway bar "attachment". If so that's about useless on a camper this big. You need a weight-distribution hitch with sway control built-in like the Equalizer hitch system.
https://www.equalizerhitch.com/
Don't drive this with the...
I could never quite master the Trailer backup system. I didn't have the calibration issue but I think it takes a learning curve to use it so I end up backing in manually. The one time it did really come in handy and worked well was when I went down the wrong road in the campground and had to...
So just towed a car yesterday 170 miles through the rolling hills of PA and at 55 MPH average speed I got 23.8 MPG. The total weight was just under 7000 lbs. I am pretty amazed at this. Hardly knew the thing was back there.
Now when I tried to go 65 MPH I knew it was back there and the truck was...
One just popped up for me last weekend when I pulled into a rest area on a trip. S24.13. Since I was having so many issues I didn't want to put it off so proceeded with the update and hung out in the rest stop until it was done. It seemed to fix almost all the issues I was having. Volume...
You might see the 29 MPG as the truck breaks in depending on your driving habits. Mine has about 6500 miles on it and seems to have gotten better with milage as some miles added on. Your 3.92 gears will shave about 2 MPG off no matter what you do.
I hit 31.8 MPG on my last trip from NJ to...
If we all read the owners manual this forum would cease to exist
The OP stated he was looking for input from owners and what brands they recommend. Not going to find that in the Manual. Already got some good input from djevox on ignoring the oil indicator gauge. Me, I always went by...
I think you nailed it. The Hemi is just itching to be stomped on and send rubber spinning, gravel flying, and roar loudly so it can be heard across town.
The Eco-Diesel is like an Ox. Just quietly digs in and uneventfully and unceremoniously gets its job done without all the fanfare :)
I have a 4900 lb camper and have towed it with 3 different Rams. The Eco Diesel is hands down much more comfortable to tow.
The first one was a 2019 Laramie with the 5.7 Hemi and 3.21 gears. Towed the camper from NY to the California coast a total of 8000 miles in 28 days. It got the job done...
The anti-spin is a viable option for you.
As others have stated for off-road use the locking is a viable option but even then is only useful if one wheel is off the ground (I think this is correct) so if you never encounter that condition then even that would be of no use to you.
That's pretty impressive mileage!
I'll be towing a camper that is about 5000 lbs and suspect the wind drag will keep me in the 10-11 MPG range. What you are towing there compared to a camper with that wind sail is a world of difference. That wind resistance is a MPG killer.
