I am debating doing the same (winter is coming..) Any downsides? I have heard oil dripping for a few days on driveway and possibly smell. First hand knowledge is better than internet rumors.

I think the only difference (operationally) is how the cover/tailgate can be closed. I believe on the FX3, you have to close the cover onto the tailgate first while the MX4 and EFX allow the tailgate or cover to be closed onto each other.

Installed the Gator EFX tonneau cover... Next is my bedrug... sure I should have installed the bedrug first but the cover came a week early and the bedrug hasn't shipped yet.

Just installed the Gator EFX today. I really did not need it to fold all the way so the price of the Gator EFX swayed me. Happy with it so far (1-day)...

Its not difficult, took me about 20 minutes. Hardest thing was lining up the lock nuts inside of the seat support brackets (6 total). Just have to fish them back and hold with one finger while starting the bolt from the outside.

Added Datin underseat storage to my 2021 1500 crew cab. Tonneau cover and bedrug next week or so.
