I have weather tech flaps and long bed... don’t help stop the damage on the rear flare or the rocker panels. I have the retractable steps and there were rock chips in the paint above the retractable side step! Ha only had about 5 miles of dirt roads and noticed the damage. I had film put on the...
Poor design... the flare and fender stick out further than the cab body and catches everything that slides down the side of the cab. It should of at least come with film on it from the factory.
I went and looked at a used ‘19 on the lot after I bought mine to see where the rocks hit; you found it! I wrapped the front of the flare with paint protection film. I also did the entire lower rocker panel. Mud flaps don’t help the rocker and front of the rear flare. Not having a running board...
@John Hable you are the man! Thanks for sharing. That is more of a project than I was imagining! Mine does not have the sound deadener on the rear cab wall either. Looks like a fun project to tackle some snowy weekend :) do you think the vents inside the rear door jamb connect to the vertical...
I have not tried that. I do not hear any extra noise coming from the rear window. Might be worth a try tho! As well as those vents inside the rear door jamb.
I went thru the car wash a few minutes ago, and turned the hvac fan on high when the auto car wash was spraying suds.... monster BUBBLES...
I debated the same thing! Wondering if they are vents for the subwoofer on passenger side and etorque on driver side...
I just got to work, tested out the extra towels... stuffing the entire under seat and behind the seats definitely helps, even on a concrete road.
I got drove around last night and did some more investigating. I put the microfiber towels directly over the vents, stuffed towels under the center of the rear seat and installed the cab to box seal. Now, instead of most of the road noise being centered in the rear seat, the corners under the...
I definitely noticed the road noise more after I installed the tonneau. The cab seal has brought the cabin back to quiet!
John Hable: is the sound pad you are referring to the double wall carpet on the back wall centered over the center console?
I just went for a drive... the bed to cab seal definitely keeps the vents closed! No more road or outside noise from the backseat! We are under a high wind warning, with 75mph gusts and still was mucho better than without the seal.
John: do you have a pic and part number for the sound pad? Or...
I had it in OR 1. I just about climbed out from under neath a couple times with intent to put it in normal or EE. But, I knew with one more try the pin had to pop in! Ha ‘‘twas a good ab workout, not so good on the neck.
The center push pin for the seal is above the fuel tank. I have the 33 gal tank. It was a bit of a fight and knuckle buster to get that one pin inserted fully... possibly because the hole had an irregularity. The other pins a monkey could install. I haven’t had it out much since I installed the...
